The ventilation system of this complex is INSANE. They have these deep pools of water with huge domes over them like five stories high and a diaphragm in it that pushes up and down bring cool air into where it needs to go.
@mrsnarwhalbacon
@mrsnarwhalbacon Жыл бұрын
Actually, the water in the primary lung isn't to cool it down, it's their fire system. They have a pipe system in its basement that is separate to cool and heat the different biomes. The reason the diaphragm goes up and down is due to warm air taking up more space than cool air....without the lung, the glass would burst open, basically imploding
@nokiot9
@nokiot9 Жыл бұрын
@@mrsnarwhalbacon I didn’t say that was it’s function. I said it moves the air. Correct though, they have like a mile of tunnels that have dozens of evap coolers and other equipment to control the air quality and temp.

I wonder if the isolation stress was exacerbated from the failure of biosphere (which he failed to mention). Poor air quality, poor water quality, and insufficient food.. lacking basic needs will make everyone stressed and strain relationships.

The suspension of 24-hour operating hours of many convenience stores and fast food restaurants, and closing department stores so early at 8pm every day do create a very profound impact on my mental health. When I say that, I don't mean their benefits outweigh the risks all the time.

Because in other countries people care about others, and they show that by electing politicians who support using tax dollars for the PUBLIC GOOD, including universal healthcare, paid sick leave, paid maternity/paternity leave, paid vacations, free or low-cost childcare, GOOD K-12 public schools, free or low-cost college/university education, livable minimum wages, and guaranteed livable pensions.............UNLIKE the United States where the blind and ignorant masses keep electing politicians who waste BILLIONS even TRILLIONS of dollars funding the Military Industrial Complex and its "War Machine" all to keep propping up billionaire or multi-billionaire industries and corporations, as well as giving huge tax breaks and other corporate welfare to billionaires while shifting the burden to the quickly disappearing middle class and working poor who are already struggling!!!

I flew to Arizona to visit my brother just as the first reports of the virus were coming out of China. He took me to the bio sphere which is now a tourist attraction. I remember thinking about how miserable being sealed in single space for two years would be. That was probably over a year and a half ago by now and just this week I left my small town for the first time since then.

I made it a priority to visit Biosphere 2. It's actually a pretty big place. During the Pandemic my sister stayed in her house with only her husband for over 2 years because she does not like people. She left the house only two times, once for a doctor's appointment and once to get her hair done. She never even went outside once into the backyard or stuck her head out the front door. I am convinced she could handle a trip to Jupiter no problem.
