as an actor who usually doesn’t do plays with mics it’s either your purposefully adding background sound (ex for a party scene) or your dead silent

We did a play during middle school that had a market scene and while the main characters were having a discussion everyone else could talk about anything with their mics off for background noise, I heard someone receipt the bible and another guy just saying random Lord of the rings lines. The best part? They were facing each other, pretending they were talking and had very serious expressions as if someone pissed them off I had to pretend the girl in front of me was making a joke because gods that was hilarious

THE theater couple at my school got yelled at for making out during rehearsals but they thought we could only see them so they backed up into the wings more BUT THEY WERE MIC’D AND WE COULD HEAR EVERYTHING.

Gotta love the classic onstage it's a funny improvisation bit or you successfully hide whatever went wrong, backstage you know multiple people are absolutely freaking out, especially crew/costumes if it's a tech or costume thing.

If i could list every thing tht ha happened rong in my community theatre, i love it. Once one of the main characters was just watching everyone silently panic on stage not knowing it was him. I had to run from the wing to the green room. I was in burst of laughter while they were trying to play it off😂😂😂

The Mic thing actually happened when I went to see my first broadway show. I went and saw Beetlejuice after the pandemic, and Elizabeth Teeters opening song at the funeral, she started singing but you couldn’t hear it, so she started projecting because she is a queen! But what was even funnier is someone’s mic was on and you could hear “oh no” come out of it 😂

Multiple things here! I love chandlers and dukes little dances at the end and kurt and ram and marta becoming fr3aky as we know the word I LOVE shine a kight reprise, duke's vocals sound SOOOOO good! Duke is also my favorite. If you think about it, if jd got therapy, and veronica never became a heather, this musical wouldnt exist! Noooo when i did a play named 'YE-HA!' me and my friends were talking and messing around and i had to wear a giant skirt whitch has alot of layers- i was spinning around saying 'helicopter helicopter' and everyone was laughing- then the helpers for the show production were like "GET IN THE WINGS FOR THE REPRISE" and we all looked at eachover like 'crap.'

Just recently my theatre was performing, and at one point the overhead speaker in the green room was messed up so everyone in the green room thought we hadn't started yet so we were singing a warm-up song while are mics were active and then one of our stage managers just comes in and glares at us and we are like: what did we do? and she's like: its started and we were just like: oh crap. thankfully it was only a dress rehearsal but that was awkward.
