as an actor who usually doesn’t do plays with mics it’s either your purposefully adding background sound (ex for a party scene) or your dead silent

We did a play during middle school that had a market scene and while the main characters were having a discussion everyone else could talk about anything with their mics off for background noise, I heard someone receipt the bible and another guy just saying random Lord of the rings lines. The best part? They were facing each other, pretending they were talking and had very serious expressions as if someone pissed them off I had to pretend the girl in front of me was making a joke because gods that was hilarious

The mic problem is so real and for one show we had to physically turn off our mics if we weren't talking because the people who did it accidentally connected mics together to the same thing so if two certain people were talking they're mics would start messing up and a loud high pitch boom would go off in the auditorium that you could hear from the entire other side of the road

Gotta love the classic onstage it's a funny improvisation bit or you successfully hide whatever went wrong, backstage you know multiple people are absolutely freaking out, especially crew/costumes if it's a tech or costume thing.

I had to run from the wing to the green room. I was in burst of laughter while they were trying to play it off😂😂😂

The guy leaving the stage would turn around and grab the plushie of course but than one day he got the timing wrong and the plushie landed on his face SO HARD you heard the “thud” from his microphone and nobody could laugh because our microphones were on 😂
