I'm glad you included the part about Harlequins perishing if they wipe out the entire population. A lot of people may not realize that. They're a beautiful addition to a tank, but they need starfish to survive.

We had a guy that would literally buy chocolate chips and linkias cause he loved his harlequins. That’s an expensive meal😅

@BrockLeonard I tried to keep mine alive that way, but I don't have close enough LFS, so they sadly passed away on me. (I even tried freezing stars for later feeding.) It was heartbreaking. The female went first, and the male lingered around her body, touching her. It was so sad.

I really like my starfish. Guest find them cool to look at and they have been completely harmless. I over feed my tank so I have hundreds of them but they still have not harmed any corals as far as I can tell.

That’s how mine is. They got plenty to eat 😂

Used to see lots of these in my tank but no where to be found for a year now. Probably deep in the rock

Must’ve found something tasty in the back haha

I have only see them go after corals that are stressed or weak. I personally don't like them because they will make the corals close up.

where can i get some
@BrockLeonard47 минут бұрын
Local fish store might sell some to you. We’d give them away often. Not sure if anyone sales em online.

I watched them take out a whole pipe organ colony In about a month. Haven't seen them eating anything else before or after.

That’s because the coral was already in decline they smell death and clean it up 👍🏻

Damn! I know that hurt
@saramarie51643 минут бұрын
@jesseberg6183 This is good to know. My pipe organ is thriving, but I also have asterinas. I try to pull them out as I see them, but I will keep a closer eye on my pipe organ! (You're not the only one to post this about them and pipe organs!)

Looks like you have a vermetid snail problem
@BrockLeonard42 минут бұрын
Dude it has been SUCH a headache😩 I got a video of them you can see where they used to be even worse. Slowly but surely taking them out.
@moereeferКүн бұрын
I hate them they will go on pipe organ corals and go on the tube and keep the polyps from coming out then start killing eating them. This also depends on ur tank low nutrients ur in trouble
@BrockLeonard41 минут бұрын
I was seeing them do this on the vermetid snails. Would not be good on the pipes
