@@Johnfisher12345 Within the first minute of the video, Brodie says that these are prices in Stubhub (most people know they are a reseller) and that the prices can go up and down. The seat prices will probably lower as sumpply/demand becomes more apparent, but this reminds me of an interesting paradox that played out when the NHL was in Atlanta. The less popular a sports team is, the fewer ads & sponsorships it attracts ... and the more of its income has to come from ticket sales! A team making bajillions in ad revenue can afford to offer stuff like dollar bleacher seats, midweek specials, etc. But a less financially secure team can't.

Also note that there is no open, web based public sale of A's tickets by the A's; the website directs you to call them for season ticketing opportunities. I assume these tickets are being offered for sale by a few people who bought season tickets and are testing the waters. We'll have to wait until single tickets go on sale later to really get a sense of pricing - there's no doubt they will be higher than in Oakland due to the novelty factor and the much smaller seating capacity.

These prices are pure insanity, no chance in hell of spend more than $50 to attend a single game🤮

With today’s economy there won’t be many sold … and that ball park gets really warm during day games

I'm thinking that the SELL movement should make a massive showing outside the stadium on opening day but not go in, or consistently show up at the stadium and go to River Cats games but not Athletics games.

I think these are all the season ticket holders, they have not put out single game tickets yet for A’s home games. This should increase supply.

The public sale hasn’t happened so this idea needs to be revisited when the public tickets come out.

Could see a repeat of this situation in Utah given how much money they are willing to spend on luring an MLB team.
@jonathann13692 ай бұрын
You’re missing one very important point. You’re seeing re-sale prices. Meaning that ticket has already been sold. If someone won’t pay $500 re-sale, it’s already sold! Every game will be an official sell out. The market will do what it does for re-sale. They will start high. They will come down. But the original purchaser will use the ticket or it will be re-sold for what the market bears. Sacramento will support the heck out of the A’s in every. single. season, they’re in SAC.

Let’s view it from the most important angle. It will be a huge disappointment if any single game there does NOT sell out.
@jonathann13692 ай бұрын
Fair point. It will be disappointing if the sun doesn’t rise tomorrow as well. Every game will. Even when the River Cats began in the 90’e, quite a frenzy for even AAA. Sac Republic, minor league soccer. Ticket frenzy for a few years breaking minor league records. And again, that’s minor league stuff. The Kings at Arco sold out almost every game. The Kings, last year, did as well. Every game. The town is sports crazy. The re-sale ticket price angle is buzz worthy, for sure.

Seems eerily similar to the Arizona Coyotes charging more to play in a minor league arena.

How many businesses will be “persuaded” to purchase blocks of tickets? Of course, if they can’t sell the tickets, they can still use the cardboard cutouts left over from the Wuflu year to fill the seats.
@hefferj233 ай бұрын
Idk, you could do this with airlines and see the same thing. Try to book a ticket 6+ months out and the prices are >4x what they sell for 1 month before the flight. Fools and their money are easily parted.

Even though I live in Roseville, I have no desire to attend an A’s game again but is the reseller market the only option for fans interested in buying tickets?

3:05 This was quickly glossed over, but the heat is going to be a MAJOR issue. You're 90+ degrees before noon in the dead of summer. I'm curious to see how the TV ratings fair if MLB schedules games with a 10am start time. Will advertisers pull their ads? Will NBC Sports cut their losses after a season? When will the Player's Union step in? Most people in Sac won't consider shelling out a mortgage payment for a baseball game. Sac is Kings territory

The A's will be mostly be playing night games in Sacramento. Probably have less than 10 day games. Even at night-time in Sacramento it'll still be 70-80 degrees in summer. Compared to Oakland where it's cool at night-time 50-60 degrees

Heat had never been a problem in Texas with the MLB and the players association demanding to play Sunday afternoon games when the temperature was over 100 without a cloud in the sky... All us fans were suffering like Bugs Bunny in a Looney Tunes cartoon in the middle of a desert... The fans demanded evening games, not afternoon games.... The players are paid far too much, they can get home at 5 am and sleep on the plane...

It’s kind of pathetic that Fisher would be willing to take a potential loss rather than keeping the team in Oakland. Personally, he should’ve been forced to sell the team. He doesn’t care about a single thing in this situation. I wish a lot of misfortune on him.

This is outrageous. I paid $204 for the final home game at the coliseum. for 4 seats in section 110. Aint no way travelling to Sacramento in the hottest time of the year to watch baseball. Yet another place John Fisher will never show up to.

If they somehow make the playoffs, it can be even higher. Will the Gnats let them play at Oracle? Or will Oakland be back in the mix?
