Thank-you so much for yet another lovely tour. Though slightly timeworn, the mansion looks so sumptuous. One can imagine the parties....The spring gardens are magnificent and your tour provided the perfect accompaniment to my afternoon tea as I gaze out at the sleet and snow here in Canada. You guys are a real mood saver. On some days there is no one better than Neil and Ant for therapy ! Thanks !

Thank you so much! So pleased that you enjoyed the video... Brodsworth really is like stepping back in time! We loved the heavy rich victorian decor even though a little dark it is incredibly atmospheric. Most of the contents including pictures are just where they were placed in the 1860s which is remarkable. We hope you have a great weekend and thank you for your support ... Best wishes sent to you in Canada from Neil and Ant 😀

Your comment about the house’s faded elegance was spot on. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Thanks for another great tour.

@lindamoore9405 Hi Linda! Thank you for watching! We really appreciate your support... The video really doesn't do it justice, there is so much detail that is partially hidden in the "gloom" but a lot still shines through too! Best wishes to you for a great weekend, Neil and Ant 😀

Hi Don! Thank you so much we really appreciate it! It was VERY dark inside so quite tricky to film tbh! We really enjoyed our visit, it's amazing to think those big grand rooms have remained untouched since the 1860s! Hope you have a great weekend ... thanks for your support. Best wishes Neil and Ant 😀

Brodsworth Hall epitomizes the word 'opulence'. This home is a true symbol of the family's wealth, at that time. My grandmother, born in 1900, had a saying she often used; "If you got it, flaunt it!" The Dalton family plainly had "it". Thanks for another great tour, Eric

@ericwilliams7949 Hi Eric! We love Brodsworth... it is a real time capsule, amazing it has stayed untouched and unchanged since it was built! Can you just imagine descending that staircase to go down to dinner in the houses heyday! All the best from us both 😊

@@chrisisjustme7546 The staircase is stunning along with the literal tons of marble used throughout the house is jaw dropping. The fact that the home has been loved and kept totally intact makes it even more special!

OMG, so glorious! It actually feels more Georgian than Victorian, with everything proportional and balanced, rather than overwrought and fussily overstuffed. I had never read about this home, thank you for a beautiful introduction!

Hi Neil and Ant the entrance really is fantastic setting the scene so well for what is to come. We love the stairway so much. The couches in the billiard room do look comfy inviting you to sit and relax. Imagine the parties in the drawing room dressed in your best sipping champagne 🍾 and martini's. We never knew about the ceiling how fascinating. It must have been heartbreaking as they had to sell off the treasures to maintain the lifestyle. We absolutely love the gardens here they do such a good job the spring colours were fabulous and the sunken garden is a favourite of ours. A great video so well presented and lots of great facts. A big 👍 from us hope you enjoy your weekend Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️

Hi Dave and Dawn! Thank you so much guys! We really do appreciate your support and positive comments... we love Brodsworth it really is an amazing time capsule... it is a very dark house with the heavy rich dark victorian colour pallette [ the shuttered windows too for obvious reasons ] We were lucky at certain angles with bursts of light helping where some shutters were up... As you say to have been at a party in its hey day sipping champagne and dancing the night away! ( though chances are we'd more likely have been waiting on lol 😆 ) The gardens were looking glorious with an abundance of spring flowers and we enjoyed a nice break in the weather as we wandered around. Hope you guys are well and hope you have a great weekend... Best wishes Neil and Ant 😀

Wikipedia says, "The last resident of the house was Sylvia Grant-Dalton (wife of Captain Grant-Dalton), who fought a losing battle for 57 years against leaking roofs on the mansion and land subsidence from nearby coal mining." After her death her daughter gave the Hall and gardens to the English Heritage. The page goes on to say that they decided to conserve the interiors "as found", to demonstrate how a once opulent Victorian house grew "comfortably" old.
