Hi Linda! Yes we went to see their Christmas decorations... it closed after Christmas and has just reopened! It is immaculate after having a deep clean during closing and there's lots of new displays on show... we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Hi Neil and Ant good to see around this beautiful house. We visited last year for my birthday treat and love it so much. It is such an opulent house such splendor throughout. Always a shame when these houses are prepared for royal visits that never happened must have been such a dissapointment. Imagine if you were given free rein to the whole house. You have done a fantastic job with loads of great information and the quality of your video is so good you get some great footage inside. The duchess Georgiana sounds like fun. We especially like houses with fantastic ceilings and i think Chatsworth has probably some of the very best. The vaulted ceiling in the dining room is fabulous. We love the gardens they are beautiful. You have definitely inspired us to return sometime this year if we get the opportunity to do so. A big 👍 from us. Hi Dave and Dawn! Thank you so very much for your really kind comment, we really do appreciate it. We very much enjoyed our visit and we were so lucky with the weather... The house is looking amazing they have cleaned all the stone floors and everywhere looked pristine! There are lots of great new displays around the route and some fabulous paintings out on display... The dining room was jaw dropping and the table was laid beautifully with some amazing silverware. We noticed so many different things on this visit and as you say how amazing would it be to see inside those other one hundred rooms! The unseen family rooms are below the state apartments and mirror them in size so we imagine they must be very grand too! The Mitford girls fascinate me ( Neil here! ) we were lucky enough about 30 years ago to bump into her while on a walk around the Estate... she was wearing Wellington boots and a long rain coat and was in advanced years then but she was still beautiful and very gracious and stopped and spoke to us... Chatsworth really is the jewel in the crown of Derbyshires stately homes and we really are so lucky to have it on the doorstep... Happy Easter to you too 🐣 Neil and Ant 😊

Oh wow, what a wonderful trip around Chatswood house. Is the woodwork Gibson's? I'm amazed that you can walk around without feet protectors of some sort, in the house. (I'm all for taking shoes off at my humble abode. Keeps the cleaning to a minimum, less wear and tear.) Thankyou for the tour, first time I've actually seen inside this house. I'm never going to see it in person, too old, too poor, too far away😊.

@jennycarter1149 Hi Jenny! Isn't it just fabulous, it's known as the Palace of the Peak, the same family living there since it was built. They had just had all the stone floors cleaned prior to opening for the 2024 season they looked amazing... There's a lot of carved wood in the house and I'm pretty sure there's Grinling Gibbons work there so well spotted! The house is huge and visitors get to see only a small number of the rooms, we believe some of the private family rooms are equally stunning. Hi Daniel! We didn't! I'm not sure if it is on public display or in one of the private areas? There are 2 versions there is also one in the Louvre in Paris though we understand that the one at Chatsworth is earlier... Thank you for watching and commenting we really appreciate it...
