I like that you try differant things and give it an honest effort. Remember though to follow direction and modifying the directions can lead to failure and unexpected results. I only dont see why you would put down the product when their directions where not followed. It worked, maybe not to expectations, but fixing carelessness is a hit and miss operation. If we didnt drop our phones because we wasnt paying attention to what we was supposed to be doing we wouldn't need to fix it in the first place. I do like your efforts and you put in an honest review and I have a lot of respect for your channel . Thanks🎉😊

Instead of superglue, some screen appropriate loca and a curved glass screen protector without the original adhesive is a decent option to use to stabilize the larger cracks and actually the "appropriate" screen protector for a curved display. I got a nice spec phone for cheap with a crack, I've been wanting to do this but I'm too much of a perfectionist to start. There's also a surface pro 7 listed not far from my area for 200 with the glass shattered but LCD intact, if I had a tad more experience I'd just about teleport there to buy it. Hence me doing "KZbin research" right now, ack... Thanks for the informative video and for sharing your outside the box thinking

I had my S9+ for almost 5 years before i cracked my screen. Had it replaced, and after only a couple months, ive cracked it again. Teach me to keep my keys in the same pocket as my phone. Im going to try using UV clear resin and a vaccume chamber to pull it through the crack. Hopefully the chamber wont totally destroy the phone. But we will see
@FabAlb1662 жыл бұрын
Did you have any success with this method? i have also thought about the vacuum method but was also in fear it could ruin the device...

I am also curious if it worked out?
@sorenzx19232 жыл бұрын
Well, lets just say it was a bad idea. I dont reccomend trying it. :P put the resin over the cracks, put it in the vaccume, and it just cracked the screen further until it broke the water resistant seals. Pretty much ended the screen right then and there. Phone has now been replaced :P

I’m curious about this UVC light and it it could destroy a wasp nest. We have an underground nest at work so it’d be interesting to lower a bulb into the entrance and see if it gets rid of them after a couple of days. Edit: Instead of superglue, the superglue made for glass might be a better option. It’s formulated to have a similar refractive index as the glass.
@TrollFaceTheMan5 жыл бұрын
Likely it can, it causes sunburn in a matter of seconds. UVC actually is used for insect control. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4260232/#idm140567839436800title The glass glue is actually a good idea especially as you say it has a similar IOR.

I did pretty much the same thing. $100 phones until I splurged on the Note 9 ($600). Well I ran it over about one year later... I got it professionally fixed and then about 2-3 months later my daughter dropped it in the tile.. cracked the phone screen again. The cameras still dont work anyway so I now have a LG Stylo 4. It is much nicer than I anticipated and for $100 I would have bought it originally lol ( and no curved edges!) So I am trying to fix the Note9 crack in a similar manner just to see if I can fix it.

Can not find screen protector for curved edges??? Try go a bit further then Walmart and you might have some luck. BTW I have a note 9 and love the curved edges.
@Leo999293 жыл бұрын
The curved edges are specifically to increase the number of cracked screens, to that more people replace their phones. They otherwise result in a worse user experience as your hand holding it touches the touch screen more easily, meaning you have to take more care to hold it, and it distorts the image to some degree. It's a straight up con. Glass backs on phones would also be a complete con if it weren't for inductive charging. You can't use a metal back with that so it's either plastic or glass, and glass it perceived as "more premium". It is fancy, but I'd rather have a robust polycarbonate option, thank you. or even maybe composite.
@TrollFaceTheMan2 жыл бұрын
I would also prefer more durable over fancy.

(From your old 555 patreon) The curved edges also make it really hard to replace the LCD. I’m an electrical engineer and I’ve done a lot of digitizer and LCD replacements. But the Samsung made it so much more difficult with those stupid curved edges. Got an iPhone 12 right now, flat screen. But what I’ve heard is that Apple is making home repair impossible by making all the parts have signatures that have to match so it makes the repair more difficult. I haven’t had to repair this phone yet, so I don’t know first hand, it’s just stuff I’ve heard is coming or may be here already.

Hey I appreciate the support you gave for the channel a lot, so thank you! Unfortunately I am not sure which patron you are specifically because I can mainly just see names in history and not the specific pledge amount. If you remember and can give the first and last letters or numbers of your username on there, then I can thank you properly. And yes unfortunately Phone makers (Especially Apple) and just about everyone else is trying to make things as hard to repair and throw away as possible. Which is Especially ridiculous as companies like Apple try and say how much they do to help the environment when non repairable or servicable products generate so much harmful Ewaste. And new waste while manufacturing that it's not even ironically funny. Just sad. Companies should be held responsible for it, but Especially in the US they just buy themselves out of any trouble they should get in and pay to make sure that laws that benefit them are the ones that stay or get created. It's a sad thing.
