For those that don't know, if you are sprinting in combat and do a quick crouch then uncrouch, your stamina will actually go up a bit for a sec even though you are still sprinting. It can very much help with movement in fights without wasting the stamina.

you can get to this area much easier by taking the teleporter behind 3rd church of Marika in east limgrave (where you get the flask of wondrous physick). That takes you to the bestial sanctum and from there its a straightforward route to fort faroth & the dragon

When you slay the dragon get to the grace and rest as fast as you can before he disappears. It will still give you the runes and will also respawn the dragon. And you can do it over and over it's about 2 million runes per hour

Once youre done with all that and you need more runes, you can farm the little guys further north past the dragon and where gurranq is. You may need an upgraded weapon to kill them one by one effeciently but they are a great source of more early game runes. just need to be careful about their high damage but they are easy to stunlock

When you pick up your rune in Fort Faroth turn around and jump and follow to get the legendary talisman of Radagon's Soreseal that's give you a boost to physical stats +5 and save you using rune for later also its increase your damage

Tip for stamina, if you crouch and uncrouch really quick you can have infinite stamina for sprinting. This is because it regens for a little even after uncrouching!

You could just cross the bridge and get the morning star from the wrecked carriage which has bleed on it. Also you should combine killing the dragon with going to the tower to the east of that site of grace. There is a reaper boss that you can kill by weaving back and forth activating poison traps going up a hill. When you reach the top of the hill the enemy with die automatically. You will get 75k for the dragon and 42k for the reaper which would make you level 39. If you get the golden scarab talisman you can increase each of those numbers by 20%. I did that yesterday with a spell user and got the sword of night and flame within a hour of playing.

That dragon spot is great for getting some runes in the beginning. You can invest a bit more time even doing with your friends and get the tarnishds furl finger first (to put your sign down for coop, use your own created password in the multiplayer section). Get the crafting kit at the church of Elleh (nearby in the starting area when you enter the open world) at the trader. Using erdtree leaves to make furcalling finger remedy to see other players sign. So you and your friends do it separately until the dragons location and then meet up in each of your worlds at the lost grace (bonfire). So you can coop with your friends (max. 3 including you) and kill that dragon 3 times and get the runes 3 times in the way as discribed in this video. Or even more, if you coop with more friends, who didnt kill the dragon yet. Well you may need the goldpickled fowl foot multiple times as well to get the full amount.

Hold triangle and press R1 and your character will hold the weapon with both hands. Press L2 to use the talent. It will cost FP (focus points, blue bar). If the bar rans out, you will still spin the weapon.

You can avoid aggro from rats by stealthing in. Stand up at door to open. Then immediately crouch again once open. Rats will never bother you

I can confirm as of Jan 2023 this still works, at least the killing dragon with blood loss by chopping at his tail from safety aspect. Thanks for the video mate! If you follow and have trouble, move further up the tail and try running into the tail when attacking. Some parts are not able to be hit.

To anyone not wanting DEX, I'd recommend using the Morning Star instead of the flail. It only requires 12 STR and 8 DEX so any class with 8 STR can dual wield it with no penalty. It's to the south of the Sacrificial Bridge grace site on the wagon thing. The enemies are easy to avoid if you're quick. It will take a couple extra minutes to kill the sleeping dragon as it attacks way slower than the flail, but avoiding the detour for the golden rune and not having to pump DEX to 18 is worth it IMO. Of course, if you plan to use DEX anyway than just go for the flail

There's a shorter route that can get you to that dragon at sub 8 min. Go from that Gate grace by Stormveil then head east to the teleporter behind the church that teleports you to the beast church. You can run past the deathbird boss and he won't aggro, you can pass the dragon on the bridge without it attacking if you just run while it's facing you. Or grab the grace on your side of the bridge for a safety net. Then run to right of minor erd tree but behind it to jump airstream and ur there.

There is a very useful talisman at the very bottom of the tower by the dragon. It's after you jump out of the first tower, and go across the roof (go along the left side to prevent the blue guys from spawning) and through that second opening. After you grab that Rune, don't jump down. Turn around 180 degrees, avoiding the rat, run back toward where you landed from coming down off the roof, just before there is a ledge off to the left, if you jump over there, take a right around the corner and quickly avoid a small and large rat (i would aim for in between them), roll through the barrels, through the opening down to the floor. You're on the ground floor now. Behind you, around the corner to the left is an item that raises Vigor, Stam, Str, and Dex by 5. Its super useful early game.

lol my first try doing this it took 2 hours. But I get it...gotta practice it. Another way to farm a lot of runes consistently is by farming the Giants E SE of the warmasters shack you can't really do it consistently until like level 40 but once you hit 40 you can farm 150,000 runes an hour. I got it down to 5k runes every 2 minutes

There's a Talisman inside that building with the rune you picked up, Radagon's Soreseal, that you can get to fairly easy though will almost certainly die afterwards, that grants +5 to Vigor, Endurance, Strength and Dexterity. A suitable way to avoid wasting runes on upping your DEX for more build diversity for this first step guide.

Not a big deal as I just had to farm 2 more levels to attain it. Just getting to the dragon however is awesome .

You could farm runes from that dragon. As soon as you kill it jump on your mount and dash to that grace to rest before he fully dies an you can farm him for 50k of runes every 5 minutes or so.

Thank you! Awesome exploit. After killing Radahn I used a sprig to get back to the stake of marika, then tried to jump on a rock and died there. I found out I couldn't go back and get those runes because the door to the elevator shuts after beating Radahn--70k souls down the drain. This got me motivated to play the game again lol

About the flail, you could just use the morning star found in weeping peninsula and use it with two hands, with this, you can save the 8 levels in dex to invest somewhere else. And to really get a huge amount of runes, you can get the golden chicken feet on the beach west of the first step bonfire to use it right before the dragon dies. Got 100k runes with this instead of 65k and didnt need to invest anything into dex Great guide my friend!, keep it up!

You can get the radagon soreseal in the fort aswell. It provides 5 in vigor strenght dex and endurance. The morningstar is also a good bleed alternative. And it might be faster to ride up to the third church of Marika and use the teleporter behind there to get to Caelid. I'll have to try and beat your time!

While this route is faster its worth taking a longer one that yields better results. You can deviate slightly and get the map. If after getting the horse you go up and talk to red hood girl you can get that grace and this will net you a seed early from her quest that you miss with this route. I think this route also breaks your early interaction with ranni. You can also grab the warmaster grace and the later limgrave graces curving around the swamp and hitting the limgrave gy for runes. There is a gust that you can slow fall with to hit the third church getting flask and a tear. You can then grab the forest grace head in grab the map and hit the fort grace and grab that seed. Headback to the grace below the accord one and go through the main swamp. You can grab graces as you go. Head to weeping peninsula and get the morning star which has a lower requirement and hit up that regions graces and get the seed. After this then take the teleport. Insted of going left go right grab graces and a somber 5 stone l. If your a mage there is the rocks sling and met staff in sage street. Cut through O'Neal to avoid the unhorse from invade and circle round hitting 2 gys for runes on the way as well as both maps and graces. Then go in and kill the dragon. This takes about 35-40 mins but nets greater rewards and keeps 2 quests from breaking.

Just learned about these rune farm exploits, there's another one in that area I just completed. All you have to do is dodge a ball for 1952 runes, fast travel to spawn nearby and repeat.. apparently it works out to 585,600 Runes Per Hour if you do it perfectly. I did it for 15 minutes and kept my sanity intact. The run in this video looks harder to do but doesn't have you stuck in a loop, might give it a try it looks fun!

For all the new players or old players who don't know Don't farm this way , don't kill this dragon because we don't know if that dragon is a part of questline later on or not. If you kill it , it won't respawn and you may get stuck in a questline that way. Moreover if you kill it then it's children will also die and farming children is easier later on to farm runes as if you are new , you can't kill them coz you are weak . But as far as i know children will respawn but for that mother dragon ( which he kills in vid ) needs to be alive. SO short answer , don't kill him. Instead you can use beast sanctum method after you spend 10-15 hrs in game coz if you start fresh then you may not be able to kill those guys but once you are level 18-lvl 20 then go there and kill them , each will give 1k runes and there will be 4-5 of them . There will be site of grace , sit there and they will reset . Just don't go on the bridge as there will be a dragon boss.

Not sure if it's faster, but if you go to the 3rd church of marika and take the teleporter behind it to the beast clergyman the run down past the bridge and the tree you can take a spring next to the wizard tower that will get you to the dragon as well.

Instead of going round to the west from the first step grace to reach the beach where you find the gold-pickled fowl foot, there's a shortcut south to the first step grace behind the church gate where you can just jump while on steed and land safe just where the fowl foot is using the whirlwind, thank you in advance :3

You can start with a bleed weapon if you pick samurai, the uchigatana has bleed stacks on it

I took the trapped chest on accident and lost a ton of runes in the mines, but it’s worth it. After spending some time researching, there’s just so many great and easy things to do/get in the Caelid area

You can also reach the Dragon/Tower by riding down to the 3rd Church of Marika, bu going south from the Gate Camp, then take a left right after the Bridge. Get to the curch, take the air currents (2) just to the north up the hill, and then proceed to cross Caelid on Torrent. Head for the map pylon, it's on the way anyway. This let's you avoid taking the shortcut from the dragon-burnt ruins, running through the mine, roof-hopping to light the brazier, and root jumping. Might take the same amount of time, but less nerve-wracking for the newbs.

Without real spoilers….. I was told by two friends that this dragon is important to the “story” and not killing it can change something pretty impactful. Not sure what but after I killed it… I was informed. So beware depending on what kind of play through you’re looking for.

I’d assume most people just want to max out their level 1st play through then see how the story ends. Tbh it does help a ton when u get couple levels ahead of the starting area

a bit north from here is where a night cavalier spawns, at a bonfire at the sealed tower next to a bridge. You wait till night, aggro him, stand on the outside of the bridge on a little ledge and the night cavalier will fall to his death. Another like 40k runes for an extra 2mins

Amazing man! I’m about 35 on my Vagabond right now. I’m gonna do this. Have the flail & just about to get to 18 dev. I know the path etc. oh maybe you should have added another 30 seconds and grabbed the golden thing for extra flasks in the town of Sorcery just up on the small ledge as you come in to the town.

I spent so long killing this dragon at like lvl 50-60....didn't know bleed was a percentage.

Was able to do this on PS5. But it took me closer to 1 hour because I kept dying. Its almost like Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl. You have to learn to run in the correct pattern to avoid being killed. Great video. Thanks!
