Thanks for the effort... I have a truecoat that just went south... i called my local airless repair shop today -- he said not worth the cost of repair. Also he said once he opens the tc the integrity of the unit is shot. Now here is his suggestion: he said the quickshots are coming in fast and furious. He said it's a great unit BUT wait another year while they graco works out the kinks Interesting... thanks again. Fascinating

Yes I’m guessing after all the hype wears off the quickshot will come down in price significantly and maybe the will come out with an improved version. They are already improving the gun with the “power shot attachment” I don’t see why they wouldn’t add that gun on the quickshot next model. But we’ll see! Thanks for watching 💪😎

No problem 😉 after diagnosing my Quickshot it’s either the gun or the pump are the weak spots on these that break with heavy use. After trying the gun off my other quickshot it didn’t fix it so purchased a new pump and problem solved. Pumps are $239 and new guns are $339 hopefully help you when and if your machine breaks 💪

It was very generous of you to take the time to make this video and post it, which will be beneficial to many people, for sure. Great job! It looked like it was a bit of a struggle to turn the new cup to the "lock" position. You might want to lube the rubber gasket on the cup to make it rotate easier and potentially make the gasket last longer. Most people would probably use Vaseline, but I prefer to use MolyKote 111, which is made for such applications.
@mallerpaintingcompany5 ай бұрын
Yes great tip someone else recommended Vaseline and I’ve been using it. Seems to work great I will check out the moly cote 👌🏻

thanks for the video. Top Tip for you, run some vasoline/patroleum jelly around the threads (plastic - and the metal of the tip guard) on the lid and also around where the white pot sits in the black holder, (not on the rubber seal though). This stops paint drying and making it tight to remove.

Obviously it's very dirty and covered with paint, you need to use water to clean it after each job with water until it comes out clear, then run Miniral spirits to to get off anything that water didn't get then use Graco pump armor. Use extra strainer when filling the cup. Thanks for the video was very informative on the inside of the machine cause I never had to go thru your situation fact is that mine would look brand new after each job fact is I use mesh bags around the unit and spray head, the hose would be covered with shield/Liner Cover. Professionals keep their equipments in pristine condition. Again, Thanks for the video. One more thing, since you opened the machine you should've cleaned the inside and you can get the Graco QuickShot Outlet Valve 18H075 to repair the pump, cost $50. Good luck.
@mallerpaintingcompany4 ай бұрын
Yes the machine exterior was very dirty. We sprayed almost 100 gallons through it in under 4 months spraying cabinet jobs. The machine did not fail from being dirty the pump took a shit. It’s a catch 22 with these machines. When your using the machine your putting wear and tear on the pump and when your cleaning the machine your putting wear and tear on the pump. All in all we turn enough profit to buy a new pump if need be!
@AngieWilliamsDesigns5 ай бұрын
I used my quickshot yesterday. LOVED IT. Today… not so much. I got almost done with my project. I did make a mistake of my own and got a clog. I cleaned everything and started over. Almost got the piece done and it just stopped working. I can spray water. As soon as I spray paint I get maybe two passes and it just stops. I followed all the directions. Not sure I understand what to try
@mallerpaintingcompany5 ай бұрын
Definitely sounds like it didn’t get cleaned good enough and you have some dried paint in the machine that needs to get flushed through. Take the time and really flush it until there is no milky water coming out of the cup in the bottom holes and use warm water if possible you can buy a little pipe cleaning kit at harbor freight or Amazon to help also make sure your filter in the bottom of the cup stays put when you pour paint. I’ve had that come out and that is your only filter in the machine
@agent7agent75913 күн бұрын
Just to add my 2 cents here for the quick shot owners , here in Canada the quickshot costs around 2000$ tax in so if you sprayed about 80 gallons trough that machine i would've throw it and bought a new , and here is how , when you quote your job throw extra 25$ per gallon price for the equipment and when you reach 80 gallons you have the 2000 dollars to spend when it reaches to its end , either change the pistons and pay less or opt out for a new sprayer , and I think its fair to charge the customer 25$ per gallon extra
@mallerpaintingcompany13 күн бұрын
100% agree with you. A lot of people blasted me for not cleaning it. But the jobs pay for it and pay to fix it if things are quoted right. I actually burnt the motor up which cost around $289 to fix(probably from running it wide open cleaning it) and have sprayed another 100 gallons through it since, thanks for watching 🙏
@ome69318 ай бұрын
My quick shot went out today. Red light was blinking 4 times every time I tried spraying. According to the manual it needs a new motor or pump . I got early November and haven’t even ran 15 gallons through it. I spoke to my SW sales rep and they told me that it might be covered under warranty.
@mallerpaintingcompany8 ай бұрын
Yes sir it’s under warranty for 1 year after purchase as long as it was used responsibly. I’m guessing it’s the pump if you can hear it run when you pull the trigger but nothing comes out . That was the problem with mine. They are $235 for a new pump and a 20 minute fix either way

Needle doesn't engage. It's operated by electronic trigger, which means there will be ELECTROMAGNET that pulls the needle (there is a spring that pushes needle foreward), mine stopped working in exactly same way, fix took less than this video, inside that big cylinder - yes you can take it apart, there is a little machine screw that due to a bit of corrosion didn't hold that needle anymore, push that needle through the front of the gun, so it goes back as far as possible, screw it back in, 10 months later and over 100 litres of paint it is still fine,
@mallerpaintingcompany4 ай бұрын
It was actually a burnt up pump. I bought a new gun to see if that would fix it but it did not. Put a new pump in it and fixed! But thanks for the tip. If I need to troubleshoot again I’ll try your fix first 💪
@nobster1463 ай бұрын
I think I have a stuck solenoid like you mentioned in your comment. It's not obvious to me how to take the needle valve apart to free the stuck solenoid. I see a grub screw on the top, but I'm not sure what that does. Can you help out?
@dominikfratczak87103 ай бұрын
@@nobster146 I used waterpump pliers to take cylinder apart, if you can get one side in the vice , it will be easier, took a bit of force to take it apart, and I didn't bother to screw it back in exactly the same (1/16 of a turn less than originally) - but no leaks
@nobster1463 ай бұрын
@@dominikfratczak8710 thanks, when I took out the grub screw I was able to unscrew the cylinder by hand. Turns out it was a stuck solenoid. Once I loosened it up everything was working again. This seems like a bad design for people who aren't using the sprayer regularly. Seems like sitting for more than a few days gives the solenoid time to seize up even after doing the cleaning process. I appreciate the help, thank you.

Does the the orange gasket left on the table at the end not required to be replaced, or was it from another video, I did enjoy this one thanks
@mallerpaintingcompany8 ай бұрын
Great question! that orange gasket goes in the hose plug ins on both sides to make it water tight otherwise the water will fry your plug in and you will need a new hose. First time I pulled everything apart I was like where the heck did this fall out of 🤔 had to read the manual to locate where that gasket went!
@UpNorthPaintDrywallLLC10 ай бұрын
It's the gun. I had the same issue. Apparently the solenoid which is the main part of the gun that pulls the needle in and out went bad. They sent me a new gun and I replaced it and it works fine again.
@mallerpaintingcompany10 ай бұрын
Yes the solenoid is a common failure and Graco will repair it for free in the first year one time if you keep receipt. However the new gun I purchased did not fix. It was actually the pump which is cheaper than a new gun 😀 and now I have a back up gun!
