Broken Hill is a frontier mining town in the far west of New South Wales, in the Australian outback. Its mining history is explored through geology exhibits at the Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum. Peter and Jojo walk the street and explore the Architecture of Broken Hill. they also visit The Palace Hotel which was made famous by the Movie "Priscilla Queen of the Desert", starring Hugo Weaving, Terrance Stamp and Guy Pierce.

Great city, I spent 5 weeks there from 13 December 2023 house & dog sitting for my friends. I visited many of the museums & historic buildings, the night star gazing show, the huge cemetery & the Silverton township. The aquatic centre was much appreciated due to the hot weather & I got my almost daily coffee from the Book Shop cafe, whilst checking the titles of some fabulous books.

I love all the murals in the Palace Hotel. A lot of work went into those paintings. It is always cool to get to go someplace that you recognize from a movie. This frontier mining town looks like a great place to explore. Thanks for taking us along for this heritage walk!

The opening drive along that downtown main street was spectacular. I loved the line up of wonderful Victorian era heritage buildings. I would have spent some time exploring here. As always an interesting story or two! The WWI inspired attack by the two Turks was something I had not previously heard about. The Post Office and the Town Hall were really imposing. The Palace Hotel is really amazing. Definitely the place to stay.

Hey Peter and JoJo Broken Hill/Silver city looks very interesting. I enjoyed seeing the architecture so much was put into several of these buildings. That mural was gorgeous. Very interesting about the prisoners I agree a cold night outside would be horrible. Priscilla queen of the desert was done well and those scenes from.inside the hotel were great we love places like that those paintings were amazing. You both did an incredible job on this tour very well done! Heritage walk looked fantastic! 😊

just a couple of pubs, you get the impression they liked a drink or two....blokes chained up outside, maybe there is a correlation 😛 I have never been to Broken Hill, nice to have a peek into what it's like ✌🏻
