I lived in the old police station (1881) when I was younger, been in Darwin for 17yrs where old buildings don't really exist because of the bombing of darwin and cyclone Tracey so its beautiful to see the old buildings in and around Wilcannia. Had a fun few years living in Wilcannia made some life long friends, it's just something city folk won't understand about the beauty of Wilcannia.

Sleepy old town, but I guess when you scratch a little deeper, there are many old and historic buildings, with an interesting history, and the town must have played a very important role back in the day, very nicely done Joseph and Peter, we don't see red tailed black cockatoos down here, amazing, and yep I would have gone for the pasty too, cheers, Steve :)

The Mansion is a real highlight of the architectural heritage of Sunbury. Emu Bottom looks a great place to visit. The Asylum is very familiar in style to the huge number of Edwardian buildings we still have. Many of our own Asylums closed in the 90`s too as care in the community became more prevalent. With my own connections to Mechanics Institutes I was interested to see the Art Deco facade that was added in 1922. Another interesting walk

Thought for a moment there Joseph you were gonna do a bridge twirl 🕺 Are all these buildings abandoned now? Where are all the people? Oo picnic time with the red tailed cockatoos. Nice water tower! Another fascinating place. The Hotel is the kind of place we like to stay. We have spent many nights in historic old hotels in mining towns in the US. The only ones in Australia have been on Tasmania and also in Kalgoorlie. They might not always be the most comfortable but they make up for that in character. Thanks again for an interesting tour guys. Have many more great days. Robert & Ivor.

The opening drive along that downtown main street was spectacular. I loved the line up of wonderful Victorian era heritage buildings. I would have spent some time exploring here. As always an interesting story or two! The WWI inspired attack by the two Turks was something I had not previously heard about. The Post Office and the Town Hall were really imposing. The Palace Hotel is really amazing. Definitely the place to stay.
