Link deserves to have a broken nair for all the other shitty frame data they gave him. SD remix speeds up a lot of him moves, including his ridiculously low jump squat, and I think it makes him a viable character for tournaments. I hate Ultimate, but it appears at least that Sakurai recognized this and gave the Link characters some buffs.

@Matthew Stratton That's hater talk right there... have you even watched the top Link players? They're some of the most creative guys in the scene. The combos you can pull off combining his projectiles with his jank are incredible. If anything, you should wish for him to be more viable so we could see more of that on a large stage. IDK how you can even go there in the first place when you have Joe Bob Falco doing the same fucking pillar combos and lasers all day.

Speculation: G&W would move up from having a better shield, faster aerials, hopefully better spot dodge. Fragility will still hold him back a bit. Then again, Jigglypuff wrecks despite being the lightest top tier. Roy....there’s no fixing his by design worse stats. Luigi’s dash probably wouldn’t change much.

It's because they were only given 8 months to develop a triple A launch title so they had to cut a shit ton of corners due to time crunch. If they had had a reasonable development cycle a lot of these issues would have likely been fixed.

Roy's whole gimmick of the base of his sword being more powerful really makes no sense when you consider that in The he Binding Blade, the game he's from, his sword gets a ranged attack. Something Marth does not have.

I always though luigis dash was supposed to be like that, the hits starting fast and frantic until his punches slow down to the point of no damage, kind of displaying his weak prowess

I think luigi missing the last hit makes sense for his character. He is often portrayed as bumbling or afraid and his dash attack is him flailing with his eyes closed. It makes sense for him to miss.

You folks know what sucks? I was making a "Definitive melee" today that fixes some of the bigger flaws of the game like what is shown in the video, the grabs from yoshi and bowser and It being possible to fall out of kirbys grabs. I used Pal as base because it is the most bugfree version of the game and I just negated the statnerfs that Pal made with two exceptions. It works from what I can tell, through I did not do much testing at all. What did break is Kirby tho. His PALdata is incredibly buggy in the tool and even after reverting him to his NTSC self, he is still broken. So basically, the game is largely fixed(not counting stuff I still have to figure out soon) except that I have a pre-PALbuff Kirby in the game that crashes when using copyabilities and Up/Down-throw and I still have not fixed the falling out of grab-issue, so a complete disaster. If someone is or knows a Smash hacker that might want to look at the issue in my patch(I gladly share it, even tho I literally only did stuff anyone could do), then that would be nice.

It does actually exist and I tried to do it again on another rom(so Kirby has his better palproperties again), but the pink ball is still broken(and I noticed copyabilities also crash the game). It is nothing special since I just threw some values into the program like shown in the video, but eh. Still gotta work on it I guess. I also have to eventually track down a 1.0 ISO because I want to reintroduce flamecancel for bowser and I have no idea if he uses an "Autocancel" command there or if there is something else weird about the move in 1.0.

Using your video for guidance, I was able to fix Roy's Dash, Link's Nair, & G&W's shield. The one I couldn't figure out was Luigi's Dash.
