Broken Reality Lore

Broken Reality is a fun exploration/walking sim game where you explore a retro themed 3D internet. Some of the story and its subtext is a little easy to miss if you're not paying attention though. So if you're ready to uncover the secrets of NATEM and ride a funky 【Ａｅｓｔｈｅｔｉｃ】wave then sit back and enjoy. I had a ton of fun making this one, hope you guys enjoy.

One thing mentioned on tvtropes that I never noticed before reading it is that it's implied that it's phisherman who originally breaks the bridge beneath you in aquanet, as the z-up axis shows up before it falls.

Very interesting, I always wondered about the sigma references but never realized it was the player character, I also misinterpreted the final area as being back to reality. Gonna have to give this game a replay.

Thank you for the kind words. I only just heard about Indigo Parallel from your comment and I took some time to look into it. I'm definitely going to look into it further but from what I've seen I'm worried about it being too abstract for me to make heads or tails out of. You should really check out the game G-String, It's right up your alley. There's a remaster in the works right now but the steam version has some fantastic and unintuitive worldbuilding, visuals, and level design.

When I first looked into it after reading this recommendation I thought 'nah' and wanted to sleep on a way to say that I wasn't interested, but after I woke up and looked at it again I think I'm definitely going to play it at least to see what I think because it does look cool.
