I love my acoustic 6 speed Brompton for many of my around town errands, and it’s amazing for last mile connections to and from buses and trains(or toss into the back of a car). I live in the more suburban areas of the Salt Lake Valley in Utah and it does well outside of the more dense urban core; it’s a very adaptable bike. I’ve been wanting to get an electric version, mainly for lazier hill climbs than the acoustic model, seeing it able to climb Hellhole does help assess that it would help on the couple steeper bits I usually avoid. While most of a Brompton is specific to the bike, there’s a pretty good aftermarket for customization and parts(the saddle can be replaced by any ordinary saddle as well)

A fellow Utahn! We're based in St. George. Glad to hear you've been able to get the functionality you need from your Brompton!

@ Hello! Jealous of the multiuse trails down your way, though I’ll be ok without the heat haha

We'd be OK without the heat too! Riding bikes for a living is great until it's over 100 degrees...

Nice to see you get to the Brompton! Living in NYC, and having ridden or owned dozens of ebikes over the years (I used to test e-bikes), the Brompton is the only bike I'd never sell(except for another Brompton). I've had my six-speed for 4 years, and it's so incredibly practical, and it just so happens to be one of the lightest electric bikes out there too. Ironically, considering its size, it's also one of the best mini cargo bikes when equipped with a rear rack. You can strap stuff onto the frame and the low rear rack means you can attach a tall duffel bag or large boxes in a way that's impractical with most other bikes. I'm also a big person -- I'm over the bike's recommended weight and found it a good reminder that rim brakes are actually fine. As your video suggests, I've found its braking performance comparable to mechanical disc brakes given the speed limit, and not too much worse in the rain. Yeah, it's pricey, but it's also one of few ebikes with meaningful resale value too.

I love my electric c line 6 speed. Not perfect on steep hills but I think I'd find the 12 speed too complex

I have the C-Line electric (6 speed) in city and LOVE it. I don’t need the 12 speed. I hope you will test the G-Line electric. Finally, I wish Brompton will make a bigger motor and battery for longer ride with electric’cyclist group. It is a wonderful folding bike ❤ I am a BROMPTON’s girl.

We haven't had the chance to test that one yet, but we'd love to!
People really took a look at that & said, “yeah, it looks good, ship it” It looks like an anemic & underweight captain america BEFORE he got the super serum…

LOL, you win the comment of the week for making our team laugh! Brompton does seem to put function first in their designs.
