@phenochio Well, truth be told the Brompton is the closest to my heart. The Brompton folds smaller and faster and comes with the Made In England stamp of quality. I've ridden my M6L over 3000 miles since I got it last May and it is still riding beautifully. I commute on it daily and have put in rides up to 150 miles in one sitting with 100% satisfaction. It's not that Dahons are bad, the Brompton is just the best. - Peter

It will still roll without fenders but the rear wheel will touch the ground a bit. The bike was envisioned and designed with fenders as an integral part so you wont get quite the same nice rolling function without them. But! If you don't like the way it looks just lift the bike up a bit while rolling and you're set. -Peter

I've been riding this bike for about a month kzbin.infoUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.

Nice review, although two caveats I noticed. The mud-flap seems not to be the best quality as it is very thin and folds quickly (0:45). My question is whether it has a good protection on your shoes and trousers? For the money you pay it should be better. Another thing the Bromptons are springless. A springloaded bike should achieve a better comfort when riding. On the other hand the bike is a very nice good-looking bike giving you a lot of pleasure.

I’m looking to buy a Brompton in 2020, and have been learning about them in the meantime. Those wheels work great when you’re on level ground but what if you’re on an incline? How do you stop the bike rolling away ?

Peter.. if i were to ask your opinion on folding bikes.. which is better.. Brompton or Dahon for just normal day use? What do you prefer most? Seems like these two are the best folders out in the market to date. But i feel dahon has the edge.

I have an L version brompton, but thinking to do some variation and cut off some weight by removing the mudguards (temporary). But I cant find any video showing how an E version rolled. Is it have to be lift off a lil bit like what you did in the video or it actually can roll with the rear wheel touch the floor? Thank you

@jamesallan7005 Well the parts for an L bike (rear fender blade/stays) are less expensive than the parts for an R bike (rear rack/fenderblade/stays). So if the mechanic is working on it anyway it may be cheaper to rebuild it as an L bike rather than an R if all those parts need to be replaced. Would love to see a picture of your cross-rack Brompton setup, could you post a picture on our facebook wall? Thanks!

I have the L bike with add-on black fenders. I would like to fit the carrier but Brompton don't sell fender blades in black for the carrier so does anything serious prevent me from modifying the existing black fender to fit the carrier?

The M refers to your handlebars, but the L refers to a bike with fenders, while the E refers to one without. So the L/E designation has nothing to do with handlebars. -Miles
