Good clip. LOVE your intro! Feature film territory. I got the urge to get some buttered popcorn and settle in to a theatre seat. I’m 75 and recently bought my first Brompton, a P Line electric. I’ve had a whack of bikes over the years and was a bike dealer 50 years ago. But I can say with certainty that this Brompton is my all time favourite bicycle. Given the choice to ride my Specialized Como electric and the Brompton electric , the Brompton gets wheeled out every time. They are just so darn much fun!

Thanks for your comments that’s much appreciated and welcome to the Brompton community. Like you I’ve had many bikes before discovering the Brompton can’t imagine being without one now👍

I had the same set up, however I changed it back as I was always getting grease from the pedal shaft on stuff. Did about 500 mls and its better under foot , but just that unclipping and putting in a bag and then getting out and grease on the hands etc. In the end I went for the ali folding pedals from MKS (about £50) and it works for me.

Yes I hear what you’re saying, for me I don’t often need to remove the pedals and I find them great for everyday use.

I run MKS quick release pedals on my used Brompton as well. The main reason was that I couldn't get it to fit in the B&W case without removing the Brompton pedals - not without damaging the foam cushion anyway.

I think most people probably buy them for similar reasons however I find them to simply be a great pedal

Nice video. I was looking at these last week. I'm hoping to get a Brompton, however there aren't any available in the USA. I've been watching for one. I have a Surely disc trucker and it has Raceface Chester pedals on it. They are super grippy and not too expensive. I don't think they are appropriate for a Brompton though. I enjoy your channel. Hopefully the coronavirus will go away and Brompton will be able to increase production. God bless you.

Thanks for your comments, they are much appreciated. I do hope the supply problems at Brompton are resolved soon, more demand for them than ever it seems,.

Terry, they seem a bit small. Two questions, 1. How to they feel after 4 or 5 hours in the saddle? What size shoes do you wear? I have size 10 UK and I’m worried that there might not be enough platform to support my foot over long days.
@terrysallbikes3 жыл бұрын
They are perhaps a little smaller than some, however I’m a size 9 and have never found them to be uncomfortable

These seem better value than the titanium bolts set, and easier to fit too.

Hi Terry, Great video about quick release pedals. My Brompton hasn't arrived yet (only 5 days to go!) but I was thinking about fitting SPD pedals. Problem is they don't seem to do them for obvious reasons of designing for both functions. Ah! must be a quick release SPD pedal available. But can't find any and I'm as good as any at Google searches. Reason for all this is that all my other bikes and shoes are fitted with SPD except for the flats for MTB. Any clues on available SPD pedals?

Sorry that’s not one I can help you with, I’ve only ever rode with flats, I prefer one pair of shoes for cycling and getting around on foot. Particularly when touring.

I've had problems with the Aceoffix pedals popping off even with the retaining clips on, I recommend Brompton owners maybe consider these Japanese-made MKS pedals.

Yes I’ve had no problems with these

Yes they come as a pair, both quick release

Can’t understand why somebody hasn’t come up with a good clipless pedal for the Brompton, what I mean is a folding one or a quick release one
@terrysallbikes3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cath, that wouldn’t be for me, but I know a few people that would agree with you on that one.

The feng shui of the brompton demands flat pedals, I am a long user of spd's on my racing bikes and my first thought was to immediately replace the flat pedals,but no.

Why MKS QR pedals and not Litepro QR pedals?

The yellow circle is unavailable separately. Lose it and buy new pedals.

I did buy mine separately last year, maybe covid has now led to a shortage in supply. Having said that I didn’t have any for a year or so and didn’t have a problem.
