I’ve been a silent subscriber since your Boston days, but I felt like this vlog warranted a virtual round of applause bc you’re killing it Brooke 👏🏼 I’m 30 years old and a Mom of two boys under 3 and your vlogs give me a mental escape from the craziness of Mom life! My husband and I decided to have kids right after we got married at 26 so I sometimes feel like I missed out on living more of my adult life. You’re always putting out quality content & I’m here for it 🫶🏻💕

Hi Brooke! Quick hair tip I got my from hairdresser - use a curl gel/cream when your hair is still wet (straight out of the shower) and then put your hair up in a microfiber towel. Your hair will absorb the product first and your curl pattern will come out better! My tactic is to flip my hair and scrunch the curls upwards. I love Innersense or Pattern for my gels ! Hope this is helpful xx

As someone who struggled with acne for 10+ years, in 2023 I learned that the two most important things for clearing up your skin are a simple routine and consistency. I got rid of all my products, got a prescription for Tret, started building up my usage to 5 night a week along with a basic cleanser and moisturizer that I use twice a day. Gotta stick with it for a few months to see results!

For the hair: right after the shower, brush it with a wet brush, keep it wet and saturate it with leave in conditioner and scrunch with your hands, then while it’s still wet use mousse and scrunch it through, then leave in conditioner again, end with the Ouai curl creme (scrunching) and plop it for at least an hour in a microfiber towel!

So as a hair dresser and fellow wavy hair girly I swear by using a curl cream. Also you want to apply all stylers and scrunch while it’s wet/damp. Touching it while it’s dry can lead to more frizz and I love the Bumble and Bumble curl cream. Apply a leave in, and brush it through then use the cream, comb/ brush again to evenly distribute and then scrunch and only use a microfiber towel on your hair that will also cut back in frizz.

Curly girl method all the way for your hair! I have a very similar curl pattern and that’s what I do when styling my natural hair. Brush it out in the shower, let the natural curl form, scrunch with conditioner, rinse out, then scrunch with product when you get out. I use mousse but you may need gel since your hair is thicker! Use enough for it to be crunchy. Plop with microfiber towel (optional) and then dry upside down with a diffuser. When it’s dry then you scrunch out the crunch!

I never nurtured my waves so that’s one of my goals this year. The not your mothers sea salt spray is the only thing that’s really brought them out this strongly. Then I’ll scrunch with gel or mousse and let it air dry. I just ordered the lazy girl air dry shampoo/conditioner and wave spray from eva nyc, I’m really hoping that’ll be the ticket! I think the best place to start when you’re trying to find that magic product is to brush your hair before showering or get a wide tooth comb and brush it in the shower after you put in conditioner. Do not brush any more and don’t towel dry! Do the spray/gel and scrunch with wet hair (not just damp). Squeeze with a soft shirt if you need to dry it, but I think letting it dry from that stage without touching works best.
@neesa.

best thing I've found for my curls is squeezing out all the excess water before applying conditioner, and then really letting it sit in my hair for a while before rinsing out. a hairdresser once explained it to me as you wouldn't moisturize wet skin, so why would you moisturize wet hair? I also think it's worth it to get high quality $$ shampoo and conditioner, makes such a massive difference. you can do an oil or serum on damp/dry hair as well to really smooth it down but I find the biggest difference in actually leaving the conditioner to soak for a while!

love your goals and your videos!! I have super similar hair texture and I put in a styling cream/mousse (I use the JVN air dry cream but the Prose one you had would probably work). When my hair is super wet I put in a leave in conditioner spray and scrunch in the cream and then basically don't touch my hair until it's dry (or I'll use a microfiber towel to scrunch and help get some of the water out). Once it's fully dry then I'll use an oil. I think the big thing for me is that if I don't use any product or put product in when my hair is too dry, my waves don't have definition, they just look puffy. hope this helps! :)

Always put curl products on sopping wet hair! And then let it air dry, DO NOT TOUCH while drying. And then once the cast has formed and hair is completely dry, use an oil to break the cast and you’ll get a really nice pattern without the frizz. Touching your hair while it’s drying is what causes frizz. No one wants a cast look but the cast has to form in order to prevent frizz then when you break it with oil it won’t look crunchy lol. Hope this helps! ❤

Best way to wear natural curls that will make your hair more curlier the more you wear! Wash hair, brush and towel dry, use bumble and bumble don’t blow it. Then section off hair and twist and then roll up in space bun with Bobby pin. 20-30 min later take out and shake hair and let dry!

Brooke I totally feel your pain with natural waves and they always look frizzy-- I have STOOD BY the ouai curl cream ever since trying it, but I will say that it'll look even better if you finish it off by scrunching with a light gel. Happy New Year Brooke! I feel like 2023 we both struggled with our skin, and I’m so glad you’re not letting it get to you. I wanted to know if you’ve tried winlevi and/or spiralactone? I get both prescribed by my derm. Winlevi is a cream for acne and it’s not as like retinol/tretinoin- with that in mind it won’t have any anti again effects. You only need a small amount and it can be a tad drying. Spiralactone is a pill that can help with acne as well, however it’s a diuretic so it can make you urinate a lot! I’ve been using both and I haven’t had a breakout since. Some people are prescribe one or the other or both. Wanted to share since acne can be emotionally hard to deal with especially being on camera. Sending you lots of love ❤

I have the same hair! I use the brand Curlsmith and use their wavy hair routine. It’s been the best I’ve found since curly hair products tend to be too heavy or crunchy in my hair. I also let me hair air dry with the products in it but if blow drying use a diffuser! Took me a solid year or so to learn my hair

I’d rather just borrow an e book from the library (free through Hoopla and Libby), or just buy the e book since it’s a cheaper than a physical book! Also, get a pop socket for your kindle!
