Great to meet so many classic car enthusiasts yesterday at Brooklands and just chat cars in the sunshine, can think of a better day out!

Excellent video Simon. You turned that around quick !. Good to see you yesterday. I also had that green M5 down as one of my favourite cars and I have never seen one in that colour before. That red Maserati Indy followed me out of the event for a couple of miles. Glad I watched the video because I didn't know what it was called! The weather helped but the diversity of cars makes the Brooklands event a must for classic car enthusiasts. It also my annual opportunity to get my "Concorde fix" 😊

Thanks Simon. The cars that took your eye took mine as well. Loved the 1602 and hearing from the owner and also seeing the P6B parking behind it. 😄 I have a 1986 e23 735i. Paid very little for it. If it had two less doors and became a 6 series I could triple the value. Hubnut did a video on it when he visited Tasmania. I think it is good that you pick cars and spend a little more time on them rather than trying to cover them all. 👍

👍😂 Nice selection of both true classic and modern classic vehicles. See this wonderful lineup of cars, takes me back to my childhood. When so many of these vehicles were an everyday sight, but now some so very rare to spot one driving 🚘 on the roads !..

I used to own a tea registration 316 3 series in light metallic green unfortunately a water pipe burst on the motorway by the time I got it home I melted everything plastic on the engine it got that hot but got me home 20 miles what a car❤❤❤ better than any new BMW

Great video, it was the perfect day for it! Thank you for including my Maserati Indy, I agree that some of the 70's four seaters weren't the best looking but I think the Indy still retains a classic sporty look. The rear hatch opens fully so there's loads of space which makes it a sort of usable classic... when it's not with the mechanic!

Beautiful cars, I think there were two on the day in fact. Hope to see it at the Italian day event!

Thanks for featuring my green Nova in your video. It used to have a VW base but 30 years ago I replaced it with a mid-engined tube frame chassis incorporating double wishbone suspension supplied by Lee Noble. The engine and transmission is from an Alfa Romeo Alfasud. Although completely re-engineered underneath, I have tried to keep the outside as original as possible, which means it is often mistaken for a VW original, but is much more fun to drive!

Wow that was quite a car, I must say the bodywork was stunning. With a Lee Noble suspension and Alfa Romeo mechanicals it must be a cracking drive! We should review it on the channel properly.

@bjt107t it’s at Brooklands Museum www.brooklandsmuseum.com/whats-on There is a German car day later in the year (amongst other show) I think, and I’ll be doing the ultimate BMW meeting at the British motor Museum on 28th April, which you may like too

The G40 is indeed very rare. I've seen the odd one at car shows over the past three years but few and far between. That BMW 1602 is absolutely stunning, being a bit softer than the 2002 could well be the perfect usable classic I've never seen one of those AC Bristol before. Love the rear end styling. I've seen the Consul in coupe form and the four door Consul Capri but never knew a two door saloon existed. Again, Micra super turbo, incredibly rare and one I've never seen up close. My Grandfather and Auntie both had K10 Micra's but only the n/a 1.0 engine. That mercedes van looks really interesting. Last year I featured on of the earlier bond Equipe and was rather taken with it. If that TR7 is a genuine sprint then it's a real unicorn, I believe around 60 were built of which some were for competition use. I think it's the TR7 that triumph really needed. That mitsubishi near the end looks like something Italian,. I think those Nova Kit car also were marketed under another name. They were based on a beetle. It's a shame I'm not closer to Brooklands because the quality of cars on display is first class, so many unicorns all in one place. From memory didn't the 200 series Volvo actually out live it's successor?
@Lot76CARS7 ай бұрын
Thanks Mark, I was very taken by the BMWs at the show and the 1602 was such a distinctive design and still looks sharp even now. I can only imagine how quick that Micro is with a turbo!

Little fact about the bond equipe..... Reliant actually bought bond in the late 60s because the bond sports car models sold in triumph dealers Reliant thought they could just rebadge the scimitar and open it to a new audience through the larger dealer network It didn't happen because of the forming of British leyland but the deal reliant signed said they had to keep the Preston factory open for 3 years so they dug out the plans for the "reliant rogue" which they renamed the Bond bug

Wow, that BMW 1602 is an Italian market car when Italy dictated white front indicators. That legislation didn’t end until 1977.

I rarely see them, but I think the last one was at the Brooklands Italian day last year, and that event is coming up again pretty soon. Normally, festival of the unexceptional in July is a good bet to find one as well.
