Just discovered your channel. Originally from Brooklyn myself. Mrs. Micalini taught my Ukrainian mother many Italian recipes. I finally started making New York style pizza last week. I thought I was 4 years old again it came out spectacular! I guess I'm bragging so if I do say so myself. Love your channel and your videos keep up the great work guys! Cheers!

My mom didn't have a drop of Italian blood, but she would make a bacon tomato sauce, in a cast iron skillet. Then the sauce would be put over elbow macaroni. Lots of garlic, onion and oregeno (I know, I know the oregeno is probably over used in American tomato sauce, but I LOVE IT so excuse me if offended! But I offer no apology for my love of oregeno! There, I said it.) Anyway this sauce recipe looks right up my alley, even if I have to take out a personal loan for the meat. Lol the prices we are paying should be against the law. Thanks for the new dish for me to try.

Simple, delicious, comfort food. Surprised you found a 35oz can of plum tomatoes. Haven't seen one in a couple years. Now I use the 28oz for regular meals, and I get the 6 1/2 lb can when I make my signature sauce. Thanks, guys.

My holy grail pizza to try right now is the one from Di Fara in Brooklyn. I don’t live anywhere near NYC, so it’s going to be awhile until I get there. It would be awesome if you guys would attempt to make a Di Fara pizza clone at home and then have your friends and family act as independent judges to evaluate how you did. I found the information below online from the late, great Dom DeMarco which may help you out if you guys attempt this challenge. "I use only the freshest ingredients, the bufala mozzarella from the town I grew up in, the oregano and basil from Israel, tomatoes from Salerno, flour from Italy," he says with a smile. "That's the secret recipe."

Ive made this a lot over the years when i find pancetta on sale. The only other time ive watched it cooked was in the 70s, an italian family that moved here from Italy and i sat in moms kitchen to teach her english kitchen. Got to eat there and tgen a few other nationalities, portugal, africa, puertorico, irish, and others( i didnt know what nationality i was till i was a teenager because we were the only white mutt family in my neighborhood, it was immigrants from orher countries while they set up their new lives. I learned to vook alot of foods and learned to combine them for healthier benefits. Very much NOT , the Great American Diet" lol I went to jobcorps at 16 and took ciminary arts. At 2 centers so got french cooking at one too. Kids grown, and im tjinking of opening a Dinner Place. And just cooking a different main course each evening.. maybe two. Like i viting tou to my house for dinner would be the menu that night. With live accoustic music. I could cook for over a month , not making the same thing twice, just different nationalities. Ive never been able to eat out, or other foods unless tgey cook from scratch. Except.. the North End Boston, and China Town where my Italian friends got us in the back door to private dining rooms. Ive been soo culinarily spoiled all my life, and blessed to have been able to do that. Mmmmmm nice to meet you!! I can smellavision that from here!!
