Brookside 2002

The very last version of the Brookside theme tune used from 2002 until Brookside was axed in 2003.

Hah, I was 8 when this was axed. I never watched it but my Mum always did and I can still remember this. I remember it's cancellation very well. Despite never watching it and having a forever dislike for soaps, I am overcome by strong nostalgia. It's wonderful.

The last few years of bad writing and acting caused rating to fall to just 400,000 by 2002. So they moved it to a graveyard slot on Saturdays where it stayed for a few months then moved to late night Tuesdays for the last few months before being axed

Ive just had a quick look and I cant find him neither, he was definetly advertising on there though, perhaps hes got into trouble for copyright or something. My friend is downloading me the lost weekend and friday the 13th from a website she goes on.

Have u looked on ebay? theres a guy selling various episodes of Brookside on DVD. £4 a disc I think.... good luck

This has GOT to be the worst version of the Brookie theme tune. The 1990s version never really aged so in my opinion little reason to replace it.

I don't like this music, its too commercial sounding like daytime tv and that guitar does not work. Should have kept the synths.

@garethparr I agree, the original version was softer and warmer. the 90's version had a very hard 'dead' sound to it. I was never a brookie fan but I remember the theme and always thought it rather a downbeat tune, but the the original 80's version is quite different to the later ones.

That was alright for its time, the 80s but when the 90s and Dolby surround came in, It just sounded behind the times.

I’ve just finished ep145 (March 84 and first appearance of Tommy McArdle) on the STV Player. Loving it more than the first time round. So funny and natural, hasn’t aged, almost looks like it could have been filmed yesterday.
