@@bmstylee resident evil isn’t like call of duty though. It’s not trying to portray the gun in a pseudo realistic sense. It’s a horror action game with mostly generic gun names like “combat shotgun” or similar. So it’s just really cool that the “Red 9” is in the game at all. Was a very cool choice. It’s hard to explain but what I’m trying to get at I guess is it isn’t a “children’s toy” that portrays guns inaccurately, while trying to tell you it’s spot on or something. It's funny both the Luger and the Mauser are not only fine weapons but they each have a distinctive form that is instantly recognizable. Futuristic and baroque at the same time their form and function are both stylish and utilitarian. In 9MM they are also quite an effective weapon for the battlefield. Examples of these will reside in a technical, historic or art museum quite comfortably. Great esoteric information and , as always, an extremely interesting angle of this weapon.

I'm pretty sure Spain acquired manufacturing rights for the C96... although I'm not sure about the legitmacy of them having Red 9s, but I'd believe it. 7.63 Mauser to 9mm Luger is an easy conversion, as 9mm Luger is slightly shorter but dimensionally similar at the base, and not quite as hot overall. The Chinese converted the Tokarev (which fired a dimensionally identical cartridge) with a simple barrel, bushing, and spring swap. They also created new magazines, but the original magazines worked fine with either caliber. You really have to change very little on a 7.63 Mauser or 7.62 Tokarev gun to convert it to 9mm Luger.

He knows that I was looking for one. So when I send him the links of this batch asking which one should I choose, he found one that has the smooth rear sight ramp, and suggested that it might be a nine but the seller didn't pay attention. I placed my bid and got it for $900. Yes it's a 9mm with a pair of non-matching grips, all other parts serialed correctly!

There are 10 things that you may not know about Mauser C96. (1) Mauser C96 7.63 mm caliber ammo hold the highest velocity ammo record for 40 years. (2) Luger P08 used the 7.63 mm ammo but later switch to 9 mm ammo. The 9mm caliber was created by open up the neck of Mauser C96 7.63 mm caliber ammo. (3) Mauser C96 is not popular in Europe because it is bulky. (4) Winston Churchill is a fan of Mauser C96 and he have three of them = (serial no 4257), (serial no 2373), (serial no 3511) (5) China was the largest user of Mauser C96 (more than 500,000) because 1919 arms embargo against the China due to the civil ware between Chinese Nationalist and Communist. However, the pistol is not in the arms embargo list. (6) Due to the arms embargo, most of the Chinese Nationalist army unit soldiers are equip with Mauser C96. There are more soldiers equip with Mauser C96 than those equip with rifles. (7) The Chinese troop love the Mauser C96 because it is accurate up to 100 meters and ease of maintenance. (8) Spain also produce the Mauser C96 and they also create a sub machine gun version with higher capacity magazine. (9) Imperial Japan pressure Germany to stop supplying Mauser C96 to China in 1929. China Nationalist government produce Mauser C96 that fire the US 45 ACP because one of the Chinese general feel that the 45 ACP have better stopping power. (10) The Chinese troop don't like the Mauser C96 that fire 45 ACP because of high recoil, slow speed and the heavy bullet drop at 100 meters, which affect accuracy at 100 meters.
