This reminds me of a time when I first got a good chance at beating the dragon, i had everything, but it turned out the stronghold was millions of blocks away and fully submerged in water. I tried to get to it, and when i did, i think the portal room was fully hidden and waterlogged. I coudn't find it, and i went up to get air when a drowned distracted me, making me lose air and die. Out of rage (It took me over 2 hours) I deleted the world and minecraft too.
