A 5 series was my first ever nice car. Was the e39 generation. I picked that thing up in Melbourne and drove it back home to Sydney in one hit. Was awesome. Loved that car. It was super sporty. The new 5 series aren't as sporty I would say but I do appreciate the luxury on offer now. The B58 motor is a legend at this point and to have it at all in this kind of car is fantastic I think. But this adds the hybrid too which is basically like a cheat. Can drive it in town for basically nothing and then hit the road and get 600 miles in one fill up. I mean, what's not to like here?

So I have owned the 24' X5 50e since 2023 Sept. How do you compare the 2 platforms? My X5 is a bit sluggish because of the weight. How would you compare the 5 Series? I do enjoy the 88 mpge that I normally average. But I do miss my M550i V8 growl.

How is the X5 50e sluggish? That car is a rocket. It does around 4s 0-60.

@BrosFOURRSpeed ANYONE for les or more that work with GAS!!! There is no way to save the planet with the downsizing or the electrification I would prefer any older car of a few years or decades which use gas. To much problems with electric cars
