Try his rock build for lucky, too. For me, I got tanky early, invest in luck and %dmg and rerolling for luck items. You'll get the elephant and cyberball pretty quick and then those just snowball out of control once you get some % dmg. Buy baby geckos too, because that's how you just set off huge chains of dead aliens across the map

I know you haven't looked into endless but Ghost very similarly to Loud is an endless powerhouse. Granted the ceiling for success is heavily based on RNG, not just in the sense of being hit, but rather how many Tardigrades you can get. You play Ghost with the understanding you get hit you will die but that's every class 45+. Typically you play the same as Loud. Start Flints and transition to axes once you get to about 1500 AS or 30+ and from Axes to Shurikens around 40+.

Another point to make is that if you're doing any ethereal build (outside of scepter) weapons, Enemy Amount, and low econ are the priority. Scepter is the same but Pen and Bounce are king and Sharp bullets is your god. Do not touch anything that can kill other than your weapon. No eyes, ripostes, babies, R&Ts, turrets, or burn. Every enemy kill has to go to weapon as the only thing these dog shit weapons give you is stats. Until you pivot off them you need to get every drop you can squeeze.
@Cephalopocalypse Жыл бұрын
Yeah, exactly - that's why I passed on the landmines and turrets we were offered early here. I ended up taking Alien Eyes lategame because I was worried about killing the elites, and those are really strong for fighting elites - by that time, the stat progression was less important than survival

To be honest, I find the scepter build way easier to pull off - I always wanted to do hybrid but the elites just screw me over. I went for roll on as many scepters I could get in the early game and amped ranged damage, damage and attack speed to generate survivability. Later, I went for speed and just life steal and didn't really bother to clear waves after 15 (didn't have enough damage anyway) but I just ran around and survived at this point. My final stats were 266 HP, 15 life steal (would've like more to synergize with the attack speed), 90% dodge, 38% speed. The rest didn't really matter for the boss. One thing, I'd recommend though is pushing hard for harvesting early so you can get an income later (when you can't clear the waves anymore) but also, damage is very important early game.
@INFINITY_99 Жыл бұрын
Also, great video! I really liked the explanation of armor and dodge!
@Cephalopocalypse Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think scepter is maybe slightly more consistent, though I think the hybrid builds are often way more fun. This ended up being a slightly odd one thanks to some weird shops, but that's roguelikes for you! Thanks very much! :D
@INFINITY_99 Жыл бұрын
@@Cephalopocalypse Yeah, totally agree - hybrid build is by far most fun and scales way better of course (feels really mighty haha). Sadly, I only managed a hybrid spectral build with loud but I think I got 3 aliens and 4 mice and ended up with 450% damage and 350% attack speed or so - the elites literally went down in 3sec each 😂

Dont take dagger, 2 exes and 4 staffs, dont get greedy, prioritize ranged dmg then atackspeed and it will work with any rng
@onekidarmy Жыл бұрын
Am i misunderstanding what you mean by linear scaling on armor? On mobile, it's 6% for the first two armor, then 5, then 4, etc and then quickly reduces to where 14 armor is like 42% dmg reduction. Ive been wondering about this from a few of these videos haha
@Cephalopocalypse Жыл бұрын
I should definitely have spent a little more time on this, because it's very confusing - I might do a video on it soon. Basically you're right, the %decreased scales down, but at a rate that makes the value of each point of armor stay the same in terms of %Effective HP gained. One way to think about it is if it didn't scale down, let's say each armor was 1% reduction, going from 97-98% would be a 50% decrease in your total incoming damage (3 to 2), going from 98-99 would be a 100% (2-1) and going from 99-100 would be infinite, since it would bring incoming damage to 0. So the game decreases each point so it matches the curve and comes out linear No idea if that helps but there you go! :D

One of the very few Ceph guide videos that I disagree with. Starting Axe leaves you open to RNG screw as demonstrated in this video. Gaining a few points of damage % or AS is not relevant for overall success of the run. As mentioned by Ceph, you have to play the run the game gives you, but taking Axe will result in more weird runs. If you look at rounds 10-14, Ceph relied a lot on player skill to not die, Adrenaline bailed him out on the mass shooters. For players just trying to win with Ghost, this run was not a good example, and the decisions are not correct for high win %. It's correct for finishing with strongest possible stats, but prone to dying. Playing for high sustain and speed is a lot easier to manage. Raw HP is required for not getting 2 shot, but beyond that, being able to heal off single hits worth of damage quickly is much simpler to play, as you can absorb many hits during a round without being in danger.
@Cephalopocalypse Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the feedback! Always great to see in depth analysis like this. :D I think it is very unusual to be offered so little healing and to not find a ghost scepter for so long - though I do mention at the beginning that the all ghost scepter build may be more consistent. These shops were extremely unusual, however (note that we passed almost no healing throughout the run, so I'm not sure where you would have planned to get that additional sustain from).
@beastofbones Жыл бұрын
Should probably preface this whole blurb with: This is just my opinion as a player. I put a higher value on ease of play, and reliability over being able to pulverize elites and bosses lategame. Ceph is a very skilled player, but in some ways, that also allows him to play more risky / greedily in this specific video, which I would not recommend a player struggling with Ghost trying to replicate. Compared to say Ceph's Streamer and Saver guide, where the videos absolutely showcase a very repeatable way to crush with the character, that do not require as much player technical skill. Responding to Ceph's comment, even if you start Sceptre, I agree the "best" build is to cut into Axe/Flint as you mentioned in the video. Due to infinite cleave, melee is less impacted by not having 6 copies of the weapon. I find even just 2-3 melee weapons are enough cleave to control wave 9. Sceptres still end up collapsing down to 2-3 slots, and since melee's main job is to eliminate trash, they don't need much damage support to do their job. As you said, you have to play the run in front of you, your decisions are correct for your build more or less. The comment is more that by taking Sceptre first, you don't have to spend your level ups and shops on HP, and could reroll both, which you mentioned in the video. Buying out the shop for HP and damage is correct for your build, as your build was slow movespeed and hoping to rely on sheer DPS to clear and stay alive, but I would consider that atypical of Ghost builds. It's why you walked into Round 14 with only 2 lifesteal, 2 regen, which is very low sustain, because you spent mostly on offensive stats / HP / econ. Lifesteal is quite good on Ghost I find, as if you're going lighter on damage, you survive by taking additional speed and simply surfing along the edge of the horde, cleaving off squishies. It's no SMG, but it still regens way quicker than HP regen, especially if you dive through the horde. So I would value Bat / Lamprey more, which you passed on relatively early in the run. Taking them early is normally a mistake due to Harvesting being great early, but Ghost doesn't need a strong Econ to win. All the Ghost weapons are essentially built in econ items, Ghost just needs to not die, and your weapon scaling will eventually win for you. So I would've skipped Metal Detector / Bowler Hat, Power Generator, Garden. Those items are all eventually good, but there's no point if you die, and Ghost wins lategame by default. This run was very atypical of a "normal" Ghost run, which means it's not really great as a guide. You navigated it well, but it's not a run I'd hold up as an exemplar of how to play Ghost. Going full Ghost weapons is dangerous in the midgame, because they have weak stats and Axe in particular has high cooldown. You had good raw stats, but the poor base stats of Ghost Weapons meant enemies still piled up and you were surrounded often mid game, which requires player skill to stay alive. A lesser player just immediately dies there. The worse a player is at the game, the more I would recommend grabbing speed as a defensive stat over getting damage. +% damage does nothing against trash enemies, I would value being able to reposition to stack up enemies and cut through to better angles as much more important. Like after wave 8, I would've spent the guaranteed lvl 3 upgrade bonus to try for move speed over max HP. If the goal is to win as many runs, or as often as possible, theoretically your build should be online by Wave 11-12. Otherwise a bad Elite roll simply ends you. If you want to talk alternate strategies offered by the run itself, when I was first learning Ghost, I often cut into Scissors / Saw, as those weapons are essentially lifesteal/sustain on a stick. So my ideal setup back then would look like 2 Sceptre, Axe, Flint, 2 Scissors/Saw. Wave 10 shop actually offered something like that, as Scissors II, and Scissors I were on offer. It sucks to have to pay more for additional dodge to make up for the missing set bonus, but the build becomes very forgiving to play, as random one off hits are essentially zero threat. You can also reliably dive through trash enemies in the horde, which opens up more running angles to avoid being cornered. Being able to run through horde maximizes the # of targets hit, and makes up for lower raw DPS. Build also needs less raw HP, as with high sustain, you're basically always at least 2 hits away from death, and recover back to equilibrium in like 5 seconds. Cutting in medical melee items is something I no longer need to do, because I understand the game better and can get away with more, I'd rather just have bigger stats now. But I found it great for learning the character, and racked up some wins that would otherwise be losses with a standard 6 ghost weapons build. (e.g. I could not dodge Mother's 2nd phase stabs, and if killing her outright wasn't on the table, I just had to plan to sustain through it). It's certainly better than just building 6 Ghost Sceptres, as they have no cleave, without pierce or sufficient AS, that build has problems getting overrun, and tends to offer less EHP than leech.
