Finally!! a person who can answer questions about markings on a throat plate!!!!! The most frustrating thing in sewing is to try and guess seam allowances, or guess what 1,2,3,or 5 means in inches!! Bless you!!!

Are you using Stitch #00 or Stitch #01 when you are using the lines on the plate as your guide?
@josephina47924 жыл бұрын
Jill Sauder yeah, she never addresses that important detail! And I listened to that shrieking voice for nothing.

I tried both stitch 00 and 01 and 00 measured correctly.

My machine did not included the seam guide and I cannot find it online. The walking foot online does not have a seam guide. Where can I find the seam guide for CS6000i?

Thanks for the helpful guide on seam allowances! I was especially interested to see that you clipped the thread using something on the machine itself. It was very brief, however and I cannot figure out what part of the machine you used. I have been stopping to pick up scissors after every seam, and would like to use this shortcut. Can you please make a video on how to clip the thread without using scissors? Thank you!

The thread cutter is that small notch sticking out the Left side of the machine. I'm thinking you've found it by now.

What a terrific tip! I couldn't do the insert, though. Could you be more specific in the location of the insert. I was afraid I might break it.

I too had difficulty inserting but I held onto the shank with my left hand and inserted with my right hand and it does go in, very tightly though. I am so excited to have found this to help me keep my seams straight. I have been using painter’s tape as a guide all this time🙃

where do i find a sewing guide? I have the same machine and i had a lot of items missing out of my box.

I would recommend contacting a Brother sewing machine store in your area for the items you are missing or contacting Brother directly.

I don't understand how to get a 1/4 inch seam allowance. I put it on 01 thinking the needle would move over to the middle and I could use the right edge of the presser foot as my guide. However, right away, it cut the top thread. Is there another step involved in moving the needle to the middle of the presser foot? My tension is on 4. Thank you!

If you are making something without a pattern how do you figure out the seam allowance?
@susanmiller82618 ай бұрын
If it is a garment seam allowance is usually 5/8. But if you're the designer you can make it whatever you want.
