Fantastic video. I didn't realize the pen holder had more than one setting to grip the pen. I am recovering from a stroke that affected my left side (my dominant side), I have limited use of my left hand. I put blue painter's tape across the front of the setup to hold the pen holder in the base while I insert the pen.

It depends on what medium you are using. Shelly. If we are drawing on scrapbooking paper or cardstock we use the standard mat. If we are using fabric we use the standard mat with the fabric sheet attached.

Thank you ...great video but I am interested in drawing the fonts on my scan n cut. Is there a way to make the fonts come out as solid words instead of outlined ones when drawing please?

Yes there is. You will find the option on the screen where you change the size of your shape. There is a Pen icon and you can use that to fill in a shape.

Alanda Craft thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I was also told that I could download single line or single stroke fonts and use ink scape to transfer these fonts to my SNC. I will be checking out both options... thanks again😀

Hi Paula, I think this is an awesome addition to the Brother Scan n Cut, and thanks for the tutorial. Can you please tell me where you get your images from for drawing? I have the earlier version of the Scan n Cut, so the images are very basic.

The stencils we used in this video are in the ScanNCut 2 model. Unfortunately they aren't in the older model.

Yes Deena the Universal Pen Holder can be used in the new DX series of ScanNCut.

Yes you can write on envelopes. I have just tested it and it worked without any problems at all.

Can I address envelopes with it?

If you are cutting out your own envelopes on the machine and adding an address, that will work. But I'm not too sure about using ready made envelopes as they are doubled over, so the top section wouldn't be stuck down onto the mat and may move during the drawing process.
