How wonderful to see them laughing together, I think this year will be both sad and triumphant for Dick, losing his brother will hit hard but the praise and awards he will win are something I'm sure his brother Jerry would approve

It cannot have been easy being the brother of such a legend but Jerry was also genetically given by God a great amount of funny in his blood and bones may he rest in peace, always loved seeing them together.

Lots of love with these brothers. Wow, so Jerry actually did sleep walk. They wrote that into the Dick Van Dyke show when Jerry played Rob's brother Stacey visited after getting out of the Army. Those two episodes were hilarious.

I’ve watched coach maybe like once or twice a week my whole life. I absolutely love what Jerry was able to do with his character. Unique and talented. Truly one of a kind. It’s sad he’s gone but we would all be so lucky to live a life as full as his. RIP Sir

Every time they do Two of a Kind I always go to my grandmother and her sister in my memory. She and her sister were lifelong best friends that did everything for each other and lived into their 90s, my grandmother passing away first, followed by her sister a year later. Every card my grandmother ever sent her sister was signed Love Your One and Only. I miss them terribly and seeing how these two interact with each other and when they perform that song together, it hurts in a good way.

I've been watching the D.V.D. show a lot lately and noticing just how many mannerisms Dick shared with his brother Jerry. Once in a while, you see Dick exhibit that same nervous energy that Jerry always seemed to have. From what I read years ago, Dick was an alcoholic and was most often half drunk on the set of the DVD show. Sometime in the 70s, he dried out but to me, his acting has never been the same. I'm sorry to say it but the only time I really liked him as an actor was back when he was an alcoholic. I can't really stand anything he has done since then. Now it occurs to me that he and Jerry both had that same nervous energy, only Dick used to self medicated with liquor.
@usfanlovesjiwoo19786 жыл бұрын
I don't know where to got your information, but it is completely wrong. Dick was never once drunk while filming the DVD show and the cast and writers of the show all confirmed this. He only drank at home in the evening, never in the morning or during breaks. He was completely sober and did not even smell like alcohol. His acting on Diagnosis Murder was wonderful and the show aired for 8 years, and a show does not last that long if the star of the show acts poorly. Dick's alcoholism also was not of a high degree and there was no damage to his liver according to his interview on the Dick Cavet show. A heavy drinker like you are describing would not make it to 92 years of age and being as active as he still is. DVD has been a recovered alcoholic since 1974 and never fell off the wagon. Not one of the cast members of the DVD show even suspected that he had a drinking problem and were surprised when he came out about it after the series ended. Watch Rose Marie's interview about it. He was always on time and never missed a beat. Only a good personal friend of his that was a recovered alcoholic realized it and tried to help him. I wish you would stop telling false stories. Us fans are up to date on DVD and know bs when we hear it.

Dick does look younger than Jerry, but I believe Jerry was already having health problems which does age you.

A major car accident is what sent Jerry's health on a downward spiral. He was as if not more energetic than Richard before the accident.
