Spending a lot on Botox? It might be time for a brow lift. Also known as a forehead lift or forehead rejuvenation, this quick in-office procedure reduces wrinkles and gives the eyes a more youthful look. Dr. Martin and Amy discuss a few different techniques that surgeons use for brow lifts and the pros and cons of each.

I had my upper and lower lids done - blephs and now i wish I had the temp brow lift done at the same time. Drats. I wish my surgeon would've lifted my brow. Why would my surgeon not have suggested the brow lift -v- the blephs. He also did a rhinoplasty at the same time. Last year I had a neck lift, face lift and an upper lip lift. I am 63-yrs young. You guys are awesome and a lot of fun. Greetings from just outside Toronto! My surgeon is Dr Matthew Brace.

Hi Denise! Thanks so much for watching! It's hard to say why your surgeon would not suggest a browlift. It could be that he/she does not do browlifts or thought that the bleph was the only surgery you would consider. Either way, a browlift is not a hard surgery to recover from and can be done with you awake in the office with just local anesthesia, so you could still raise your brows even after the bleph.

This was by far the best video I have seen on brow lifts. I have been looking into them for some time. I was advised that I could not have a brow lift as I have fine hair, is this the case?
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer! So glad you found our video! Having fine hair or even a receeding hairline does not preclude you from a browlift. Your personal comfort level with having a possibly visable scar may mean you do not decide to have a browlift. However, once the incision has healed compleletly the scar is nearly invisable even if there is not much (or any) hair to provide camoflauge.

@@JasonMartinMD thank you for responding 🙌🏻 I have also been advised that facetite/accutite would be a good option. Would this treatment give a significant lift to the outer third of the brow or would a temporal lift be the better option?
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer, it's hard to say for sure without an in-person exam, however, formal surgery will almost always provide a more definitive and longer-lasting solution. As powerful as AccuTite is, it cannot remove or pull skin, so if you truly have excess skin surgery may be the best bet.

Wait till you really, really need it done. I had the lids done first and then the brows within two weeks. I waited till I was 67 yrs old and having visual issues to the sides and top of my eyes. The surgery outcome most likely will only last approximately 10 yrs give or take.

What is your opinion on a trans blepharoplasty Endotine lift? You mentioned Endotines for the endoscopic lift which sound like they are in the hair line. What about endotines places directly at the eyebrow through the upper blepharoplasty? Do they also take a year to dissolve? Thanks in advance! Love your videos. Always so informative.
@zsuzsuspetals
@zsuzsuspetals 3 жыл бұрын
If you're describing what I think you are, I've read that yes it will take a year for the endotines to dissolve and that people had horrible headaches from them. Apparently the enodotines around the eyebrow hurt badly during recovery.

I am very interested in a brow lift. I'm 36 years old. I have always been very animated and my predominant facial expression has been raising my right eyebrow! Lol now the eyelid is very hooded - both eyes are hooded, because I moved my brows and forehead so much but the right eye is quite apparent now. For many years, it was only me who noticed the gradual hooding of my lid, but lately I have people asking, "is everything ok? Are you alright?" Because my resting face now looks angry or upset to other people!! So - I'm taking it as a sign 🥰🥰

What type of endozoic brow lift and wonder what the best recommendation was for surgery, metal hooks or pins to adhere to? Wayne
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD Жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne, thanks for watching! The most common 'anchor' for endoscopic browlifts is endotines. Endotines are small implanted devices that are attached to the skull and have small hooks on the skin side to hold the lifted skin securely. These can also be used for traditional incisional browlift and even for face and neck lifts.

What is the name of the procedure that you do?
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Trish! The most common type of brow lift we do is a lateral brow lift. The incisions from this surgery are in the hairline above the outer half of the eyebrow. Hope that answers your question!

I'm a bit young, ~20, but am interested in a brow lift because I'm constantly raising my eyebrows. Otherwise it looks like I'm very serious, kinda mad, and it practically meets my eyes. Also just not a youthful, pretty look. But now I have forehead wrinkles, and I have a very (thicc???? fatty???? weirdly volumed???) forehead. But obviously I worry it'll impair my ability to express or look weird 😅
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Valxria, thanks for watching! A well done browlift should not leave looking weird or expressionless even in your 20's. If you have tried less invasive options like Botox to address the heaviness of your brow the next best step would be to have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to help understand your options!

What exactly is a "nutritional therapist"? I call BS on this woman.
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD 10 ай бұрын
Great question! What’s a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP)? NTPs use a foundational and bio-individual approach to functional, holistic nutrition to balance body chemistry and achieve optimal wellness. NTPs are equipped to support the body’s innate ability to heal by addressing the importance of nutrient-dense food, anatomy and physiology, lifestyle choices, culinary wellness, client coaching, and how social and personal components influence health. What skills and tools does an NTP possess? NTPs are able to: Conduct an effective interview with clients Evaluate Food and Mood journals and make recommendations for beneficial dietary changes, as well as in key lifestyle areas such as stress management, sleep, hygiene, and intentional movementEvaluate the Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ) and interpret the information Communicate using appropriate terminology Prepare nutrient-dense foodsCreate recipes and meal plans How can an NTP help clients? NTPs are trained to use a combination of professional tools to assess the unique needs of each client. One of the most powerful tools used in this process is the Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ). The NAQ is a standardized questionnaire that enables the practitioner to analyze a client’s symptoms to identify their nutritional needs and prioritize what areas of the body to support. This data empowers practitioners to develop tailored, bio-individual plans that help clients advance on their personalized path to optimal health and wellness. Upon graduation, an NTP has received a minimum of 325 curricular hours across topics such as blood sugar regulation, anatomy and physiology, hydration, mineral balancing, and more. What guides the Nutritional Therapy Association? The belief that every individual can tap into their innate intelligence to find the nutrient-dense, real foods that will support optimal healthProfound respect for the teachings of the nutritional pioneers Commitment to the concept of bio-individuality
