For the reduced dead key, adjust the transmitter "tune" for max and adjust the "load" for the desired output value. Funny that the standard power output from an Olson Sidebander/Regency Imperial/Range Gain is all the rage nowadays.

True that. Interesting that people believe detuning the load is ok. Yes I know about overcoupling which is supposed to be like 3% if done correctly. Maybe if CB amps had a plate current meter we could then maybe try to explain what is happening when you dip the plate.

I love those old birds, I have two MK3’s and a MK4A, on one of my MK3’s I have the same problem with the extinction speaker not working, any tips on how I can repair this? Thanks Doc. Keep those Tram and Browning videos coming!

usually either the speaker switch or the external speaker socket is bad.
