I was told by some one it’s called the heel technique. Basically it allows a drummer to play bass drum twice as fast which apparently is why he is able to play these songs with one bass drum. It’s pretty cool I think
@ajjy1110

@@shanebroussard6262 nope you're wrong he doesn't use his heel he uses the ball of his foot and slides side to side

@@ajjy1110 well as I mentioned someone told me this I didn’t say I knew this. And to be fair I made a few googles and your not correct as well. He doesn’t slide his foot left and right. He slides of forward and does almost a double kick with his foot. It’s called the gallop or something like this.

As a drummer of 37 years I've seen many different drum position arrangements but I'll never understand why Nico ever started setting up his kit like that. His drum and cymbal placements are an ergonomical nightmare. ...AND HE STILL ROCKS THE HELL OUT OF IT!!🤘💀🤘

The thing with Nico is, he'll sit on your kid's 5 piece drum kit and even then play like something you never saw before in your life. He's incredibly versatile. Who knows why he went for this setup.. was it the fashion amongst some Big Stage drummers at the time? Or he just felt like it? Years later he's playing jsut as well at Rock n Roll Ribs gigs on a more basic drum kit....
