Best thing here is y'all talking about "It ain't stealing, I paid for it," when you're putting biscuits in your pockets. Hah! I had this old grandma, see, farm girl, born in 1897, who grew up on the *ss end of nowhere in fookin' Saskatchewan all those years ago (yes, I am that old), and she not only grew up rough and lived through both world wars and two major depressions, but even taught my dumb*ss all her old-timey sh*t. How to garden and cook and can--this old lady had me making lye soap on cheesecloth on her front lawn in fookin' suburban Chicago in the 60s! Anyway, sometimes on our 2-mile walk to church every Saturday and Sunday, she would stop and get us a cup of coffee and a sweet roll in this diner that opened at 5am (yeah, old country people would feed little kids coffee back then), and she just did not understand tipping. She would fill her purse with jellies and whatnot, pushing her prayer books to the side...thinking, well, I can make that sh*t for almost free, why wouldn't I put this stuff in my purse--I paid for it! So funny, all these years later hearing y'all saying the same thing! Thanks for the memories, man!
