Man, thanks for this. Really makes me wanna main Law in Tekken 7 now. I didn't notice before but it's crazy how Neo's (The Matrix) fighting style is borrows and is inspired from Bruce Lee. The scene at 9:45 - 9:52 in particular reminds me of when Neo gets back up to fight Agent Smith in the subway fight and does almost that exact same taunt. Also when Neo and Morpheus are sparring in the dojo in The Matrix, Neo does Bruce's signature "wipe nose with thumb" move. The reach of Bruce Lee's influence is amazing!

Fun fact for those who don't know. In the scene at 15:49 Lee actually beat the shit out of Chan and he was legitimately hurt. After filming Lee approached Chan, apologized and complimented Chan's martial arts. Jackie Chan says this was a huge inspiration for him.

One thing that I don't like though is that the Devs over the years make the character too muscular and sturdy in my opinion. Bruce Lee had yes a muscular but thin and athletic body. In the last Tekkens looks excessive and dull..

Oh..this was apparent LOOOOONG B4 Tekken came along. I know, this is a video that focuses on tekken itself. Just saying.A Forest Law and Bruce Lee side by side comparison really shows the influence made here. The moves are identical. In the games franchises that Lee's influence can be seen are really only visible in the character models themselves. I have to agree, Tekken is spot on! I love those games and, to this day, I still play Tekken 3 all the time! Me and a few friends had it out this past weekend with it. One fella, around my age (52) had never even seen it before. I picked up a PS mini a few months back and was playing Res. Evil when they walked in a saw it. They were blown away that 20 games, 2controllers, and..NO memory cards fit right in the palm of my hand! The Mini has self memory now so you no longer need them. My only complaint is the games list itself. Who picked this and how they choose which ones. No Gran Torismo?! That's the best seller of the PS 1 and I don't care for driving games! It does, however, have R.E.1, Metal Gear Solid 1, along with Tekken 3. Other games left me baffled as to how they made the list. Games like Battle Arena Toshinden and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo? WTF? First of all, you've only got 20 games' room and you've already got Tekken as a fighter. Why not put something like Silent Hill or Doom? The only real FPS on it is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. Why? The game is extremely difficult to tolerate and Doom is easy to play. No Tomb Raider either? Why not? There's NO exploration games on it like that at all. I know..for one complaint, it's a long one! But, it's true. If Sony makes a PS2 mini, I hope they do a better job of selection. Oh..and, ya can't play anything else on it. No way to add content. Yes, this would require more tech and a price fix but, in this day and age, a few more bucks ain't gonna matter. Anyway, ya got the picture. Fun fact: Even though Law looks and fights like Bruce Lee in the movies, Lee Chaolan is the embodiment of Bruce Lee. First of all, Lee uses Jeet Kune Do, Bruce's martial art he created. Also, Lee Chaolan is a play on Li Xiaolong, Bruce's Chinese name.

I wouldn't say he is the "Embodiment" of Bruce Lee. Even though yes, Marshall Law fights more like Bruce Lee does in the movies, he still has like a billion homages to him. Hell, his Tekken 4 ending is a reference to Way of the Dragon and even the music used in that ending is very similar to classic Bruce Lee Movie OSTs. Lee's style was also originally a combination of Paul and Law's moves in his debut in Tekken, because storywise he apparently he trained with them. But as time went on Lee developed his own gameplay and fighting style with Hitman Stance, and a lot of very flashy and acrobatic moves. A lot of stuff that emphasized Lee's very flamboyant personality. I think Lee's fighting style was only called Jeet Kune Do in his early appearances but is no longer listed as such. JKD would've most likely been Law's Fighting Style had it not been for some executive at Namco wanting to call Law's fighting style "Martial Arts" as a pun. Like yes Lee Chaolan is Bruce Lee's Chinese name, but at this point Law is way more Bruce Lee than Lee is.

Well, the truth is, if anyone of them is made like Bruce Lee, he'd be one hell of an OP character. From a recent interview in HK(the interviewee is a guy who got into martial arts movies a little later than Bruce), Bruce Lee could penetrate a hardened aluminium can(imagine a Campbell soup can, but 10 times harder) with ONE SINGLE FINGER. Also the interviewee mentioned how two huge guys pissed off Bruce, and he lifted them up, one with each hand. This strength is just too much haha.

Oh I forgot to make an annotation there, no they did not that. That wasn't a back grab iirc, it was an item throw that changes Law's throw when you have the chest scar clothing equipped. Law's backthrow has always been he grabs them by their hair and does a powerful single punch into their face. Forest's version is he punches them real hard in the back.

I think it's kind of an unwritten rule, that in every fighting game there has to be a character that; at least, fights like Bruce Lee? In Virtua fighter: it's Jackie Bryant Mortal Kombat: it's Liu Kang In Street fighter: it's Fei Long (I think? Or something like that? Also similar to Bruce in cartoon form, though didn't really fight much like him Lol) In DoA: it's Jann Lee nearly outright taking the name (probably thought better of it on reflection though! Lol) Soul Calibre: it's Maxi. Aka: Elvis and Bruce Lee's love child (sings you a tune, whilst beating the s**f outta you! lol) Tekken, though was the only one ballsey enough to just outright copy Bruce's likeness exactly and his fighting style, near perfectly. Never dug the facial hair on Marshall Law in some of the Tekken games but Marshall Law (especially without facial hair) and Forest Law EASILY take the spot of closest fighting game character to resemble Bruce Lee. Other game characters like Fei Long from SF and Liu Kang from MK came close but the Tekken Laws literally have some of the EXACT same moves/ mannerisms. Doesn’t get more authentic than that. Proof is definitely in the pudding on this one👍
