Well what a great introduction and so much info as well. I just watched it again in case I missed anything. Its so interesting to hear about things that directly come from Bruce. I know Jerry had the upmost respect for Bruce and Eric had the same for Jerry. I'm sure the feeling and understanding between Eric and Jerry was mutual. Guro Dan Inosanto once told Sigung Richard Bustillo, "We were lucky. Through Bruce we found each other." With Eric and Jerry it was the same. Fantastic start and can't wait for part 2. @@CharlesDamianoBLC Hey Charles! When will you interview guru Dan Inosanto? Do you think he would accept an interview? I pretty much viewed every interview available on KZbin with featuring Dan. But I am convinced he still has things to share. He is 86 years old, but I think he is still active. When I first went to a Dan Inosanto seminar it was for JKD and for Bruce Lee, but then I discovered a man passionate about martial arts in general. They often call him the "eternal student" of martial arts. It is there that I first learned about Filipino martial arts, which were about unknown in Quebec at the time.

It is true! What a journey he had! He was privileged, but he did reach out. Same thing for people training with Dan Inosanto. People living in the California have that chance to be close to his school. Dan Inosanto did many seminars around the world. I was lucky to attend two of them.

Great interview, when Eric mentioned " some of the equipment Jerry would make" I remembered that the wing chun dummy we have at Sifu Tackett's garage was one that Jerry had made as well. Very cool and I never lose the fact how people that have known the 1st generation students always have good things to say about them which shows just how Bruce was and the type of people he surrounded himself with as we spoke about during my interview with you and that too has been my experience. I really enjoyed this interview. Eric Carr had nice stories to share about Jerry Poteet, which seemed like a good man and from what I saw a skilled JKD practitioner. I mostly collect stories about Bruce, not mobilia. But one thing is certain, a lot of people would die for that signed by Bruce Lee wooden dummy arm he had given Jerry. You guys are lucky to be able to train in the park almost all year long. I live in Quebec province, Canada, and we have 4 months of good weather tops! We can see that Eric is like Jerry and teaches for the love of martial arts and not primarily for money. Which I respect.

Well you just knew I had to leave a comment. I think its safe to say that this is the episode that I've been looking forward to the most. It will be people like Sifu Eric who will preserve and continue the legacy of Bruce's art of Jeet Kune Do. It is such simple but equally an emotive subject. And one that few really understand. @@CharlesDamianoBLC I was very lucky to be taught by Supreme Grand Master Danny Guba himself. He is the one refereeing. I trained in Guba Doce Pares for 11 years gaining a 2nd degree black belt. Training with him opened the doors to meeting many other JKD/Eskrima instructors. Of course Sigung Richard being the highest. 3/4 of the way through the bout, I had an enlightening moment. I accepted the pain and ignored it and it opened up to a much deeper awareness. On my next lesson SGM Danny asked me if I learnt anything new? I replied, "No. But a new way of understanding" Which he laughed and said, "Now you get it." I won the fighter of the day trophy and went on to write an article about it in Martial Arts Illustrated. It was one of the high lights of my Martial Arts training along with demonstrating with Sigung Richard. The next one will be sparring with you and Eric.
