If you look at Bruce Lee doing the straight lead in the "Fighting Methods" book, you can see he lands the straight lead while his rear foot is still on the ground. Is that how you're supposed to do it? It makes sense in a physics standpoint, because if your leg is not there to brace you, the impact would push you back.

Bruce's OG core group does really well at that those things most are dead now but they were the real deal. And didn't follow the whole jkd school chain thing "Jkd concepts" because Bruce was teaching them things they didn't like which is what they're using today. Anyway. Idk if you looked those guys up but man you can really see the difference... Like Jesse Glover, Ed Hart, James Demile, taky kimura. There are a few later guys from the back yard group Ted Wong, Jerry Poteet

Your front foot at the end of the punch should land on your heel, right?
