Bruce Lee once stated his training was inspired by the Great Gama. If you haven't heard of him he's easily the single greatest athlete that ever existed. Training routine and diet unlike any other.

Definitely not the single greatest athlete to ever exist. Different variables apply to athleticism: agility, reaction time, strength, power, explosiveness, endurance, flexibility, hand/eye coordination, speed (hand speed, kicking, running, lateral speed). Now I’m not saying he wasn’t an athlete but to say he’s the best to ever do it is asinine

Maybe that was the isometrics aspects...off the top of my head, Game was a strong man and wrestler...who primarily used heavy wt tools and isos...he had over 5000 bouts and never lost...so no mean athlete...

Love the video, I'd be interested on seeing a follow-up video for how you would optimise the work-out but keep the spirit of it the same. I was suprised to see dumb-bell circles instead of kettle-bell circles, or something else where the centre of mass is off centre.

I think greater intent and focus was obtained by people like Bruce...as the philosophy of the art and its relation to the ways and purpose of life gave them more impetus and meaning...they knew why they were training, and why they were training in a certain way. When you go to war, these what seem like trivial matters can mean everything...and be the difference between staying alive or not, or having a 'good' death...or not. Purpose is everything! Ayyyaaaa.

I have studied Bruce Lee for a little over 30 years, all the styles of martial arts bruce studied, 1 thing alot of people don't know, bruce lees one brother was a boxer and his other brother was a champion combat fencer, that had a big influence on bruce to put his power side forward, not to mention the muscle electro stimulation he used, with crazy high voltage, that others could not do/handle it.

^yup spot on. Like you said: fencing had such a huge impact on his development of JKD that his baseline stance was with the dominant (right) side forward as done in fencing as opposed to the weaker side being forward as in most martial arts like boxing or Muay Thai. Also, he named that baseline stance the “on guard position” just like in fencing.

I dont think one off his brothers was a boxer. He had 2 brothers (Robert and Peter) and Peter practiced fencing, but Robert was a singer, not a boxef

Nice video! In my occasion, i can only train 3 times per week, 2 boxing sessions and only 1 strength and conditioing session. Should i focus a little bit to everything on my strength and conditioning session or be specific, to improve my overall ability and prevent injuries? Thank you in advance!
