People who say bruce was cocky and full of shit should watch this interview... His mindset towards martial arts is so pioneering even by todays standards.
@doktordrift9482 жыл бұрын
It really is. To consider exercise, training, kicking, punching and maybe even fighting in regulated combat sports all as individual expressions of the mind and body rather than simply being skillsets involving technique, seems to be a very unique and progressive way of looking at it, even in 2022. To Bruce, it would be the equivalent of modern interpretive dance..... with deadly power and accuracy, though. This point of view goes a long way to explaining why some people claim to "love" martial art even if they hate fighting or competing and why they've always loved it - because it's not just moves and kicks and tricks. They've been expressing themselves, their emotions, their whole being, all along and it feels good and true. This 24 minute video has touched the very essence of who I am and who i have been since i was 5 years old, or as long as i can remember. It's rattled my cage and rustled the leaves and reminded me why we do anything with diligence - to better ourselves, to learn and understand, to be gentle and soft and flow like water and CRASH through obstacles. The man is simply amazing. Is he "the greatest fighter" or "could he beat Mike Tyson"...?..... who cares? The man is much more than a fighter. He IS philosophy, he IS style, he IS understanding, he IS art and he certainly is power. R.I.P.

@Jamesfckoffscammers2 жыл бұрын
@@WM0302 yeah, kinda sad that some people can't tell the difference between what is considered confidence, and what is considered to be cocky. A person that is confident, has confidence in knowing what they can do, but also knows their limits and so they are humble. A person that is cocky, overestimates themself and underestimates others, thus they do not know their limits and are therefore arrogant (and in some cases also ignorant)... in the UFC, it's kinds amusing to see a fighter being cocky and acting like they think they're king sh!t, but then get knocked out in the first round just as it very first starts.

@flotreize34472 жыл бұрын

I admire his physical talents and abilities, but his thinking process and mindset is what made me look deeper into his life and philosophy many years ago. It opened up so many other doors into other subjects and spiritual concepts. His personal library included a vast array of subject matter unrelated to martial arts and fighting. Truly fascinating.

Bruce Lee was real, in the sense he freely expressed right and wrong. Being real is a virtue in a world that wants to shape you through hypocricy, but it's not the highest virtue. Being holy is, encompassing all virtues. Bruce Lee was a respectable person, a knowledgeable martial artist, a good actor, a person seeking and advancing wisdom, a person leading people's character to the right direction. He had way more to accomplish in front of him, but death had other plans... and that is how life is...

If any one truly wants to "Know" who Bruce Lee was....watch this interview. BL was very honest in his abilities and how he views MA. And how he views "real fights"....it's all here. :) Very revealing. Shows us how most of what's been said about him has been speculation and hype. Marketing. That was his forte "self-promotion"...not martial arts. Course he cant "teach Karate" he never spent enough time learning Karate. Didn't even have a "2nd belt" never mind a black belt level of experience and knowledge.
