I traveled from FL to see night 3 at MetLife Stadium, just to say that I got to see Bruce in New Jersey. Being a live music critic for a newspaper, I've been to over 300 shows in my life. Not only was this one without question the best I've ever seen-and probably ever will see-but hearing Bruce and E Street launch into Jungleland will probably go down as one of the top 20 highlights of my entire life, and I'm 22. A night I'll never forget.

Couldn't agree more. I flew in from Finland to see the night 3, just for the same reason. What an epic night, and a first time to see Bruce and the E Street Band live!

Yea because he changed up the set. There’s nothing wrong with liking that, but seems like when anyone mentions it, they get scolded. Been to every tour since 1987, and I’ll always love this band, but the set needed a tune up, and last night was a start.

Thank you for this. My dad and I were at night one of the tour in Tampa in feb. My 1st show, dads 13th. He didn’t play jungle land then (dads favorite). He passed 2 months ago. This brings me such joy and memories of us listening together my whole life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel you, I lost my dad less than 2 years ago too and it was on my first show with him back in 2009 that I had seen Jungleland for the only time before yesterday so it was a very emotional moment for me too. Wishing you peace and to keep on treasuring those memories!

I loved Bruce's music for over 40 years now and truth be told his voice is not what it used to be. You listen to some of his old stuff and his voice was far stronger BUT Bruce is no fool, he backs himself with a brilliant band, he plays all the right songs and he still gives it everything he's got. Yes he still puts on the very best show and I will love his music. My son was on his honeymoon in America and went to this very concert. He was so incredibly happy to see him live and to hear Jungleland just made his night.

I don't understand the comments. Prices are high, so were Madonna's and Taylor Swift. Met Life charges $40 to park, is that the band setting that price? Who else puts on a 3 hour show? You see other shows and its at most 90 minutes. If you are a true fan be a fan. As far as the comments of him selling his songs..... Bruce isn't going to be around forever. He is protecting his children and his children's children. It hurts to pay the prices but it hurts just as bad to go to the grocery store or pay the cable bill lately. I'm thankful I was able to see this show and am thankful for the 50 years of stories Bruce has given us.

I’ve seen Springsteen about 30 times going back to the River tour, up until 2012. The people who are commenting on how great this show is must never have seen him in his prime. Realizing that Bruce is almost 74, and seeing this video now compared to seeing him in his “No Nukes Concert” days and the “Born In USA” tour is like night and day. Bruce seems to be stuck in cement as he doesn’t move more than 5 feet from his microphone stand and tries to make up for his lack of mobility by throwing his right hand in the air quite a bit. I cannot criticize him for this given his age, but I can recommend that he does concerts in smaller arenas. It also wouldn’t hurt if, with all of his wealth, he didn’t gouge his audience which makes him a hypocrite when compared with his past music where he sang songs for the working man. I suppose that in the modern day where music and concerts suck, his show is still better than most of what else is out there. But for people to use such superlatives to describe how “great” his present concerts are, shows a complete lack of perspective as to what once made Bruce the greatest live show out there. To those of us who were there and remember well, Bruce is sad to watch these days. Bruce, go back to Broadway and other smaller venues. You have enough money to last you forever.

Sorry Robert but I must disagree. My first tour was the BITUSA tour in Newcastle, England. I have since seen Bruce & the band on every tour and seen Bruce with the session band as well as his solo work. This tour (For me) was one of the best to date. The reunion tour was amazing but this one was special. Please accept that people's perspectives of each tour can be attributed to their own individual circumstances at the time. If I can give an example, I went to see Bruce on the Rising tour with my now ex-wife. She was an arse and I didn't enjoy the tour, this time I went with my now wife who is a big Bruce fan and we had a blast. Everyone's opinion on each tour differs. Thank you for your opinion, but please respect other's opinions.

@@mcmorranj Thank you for your response. I adamantly respect one’s right to their opinion. That doesn’t mean that I have to respect the opinion itself if I completely disagree with it. I am basing my opinions on objective facts rather than the emotions that I draw from attending his concerts. I saw Bruce on the Born In the USA tour many times. The Bruce of that tour and The River tour was a far superior performer than he is today primarily because of his age and the physical nature of his performances back then vs the present. That incredible physicality that he brought to his marathon concerts in the 70s and 80s works against him when comparing those days to the present 74 year old immobile Bruce. When people speak of how incredible his present concerts are, I have to believe that they have never watched video of him from the “old days”. I still like his music. I respect that he is out there doing his best at age 73/74 but in my opinion, based on both casual and careful observations over the years, his present abilities fall far short of his previous abilities. This is why I believe that he would be far more effective in smaller venues rather than larger arenas and stadiums. I also have lost respect for the man who used to sing for those working people who’s jobs have been sent overseas. Now his ticket prices are astronomical and unaffordable to those working poor and middle class folks that he used to sing for. He prefers to rub elbows with the very same globalist elites who have destroyed the middle class and sent those jobs away. So, I am happy that you and so many others are enjoying his concerts and may believe that he is the same performer that he was at age 30-35. I prefer to stay away, given my choice that I prefer not to make Ticketmaster and Springsteen any richer, for a far inferior product to the one that I once thoroughly enjoyed and payed so much less for (even adjusting for inflation). I do think that he is a hypocrite and wonder why he wouldn’t give a series of free or very inexpensive concerts, given the fact that he is so incredibly wealthy. I do wish him well and hope that he regains his health and continues to perform in 2024, even at the obscene ticket prices that he and his corporate partners charge.

I'd agree Bruce's voice is not what it was. I've followed him since Born to Run in 75 and have been to a few concerts however he still knows how to play to a big audience. He's smart and has a great backing band behind him to make up for his flaws. He gives the crowd the songs they want to hear. He is 74 but he can stand up and sing his heart out for over three hours night after night. No he is not Bruce of the 70s and 80s but he is still Bruce and still better than alot of acts going around today.
@roberthammond487
@roberthammond487 Жыл бұрын
@@fayenance7454I agree with much of what you said. He does do his best for the crowd given the limitations of his age and present abilities. He is much better than most of the present day crap. My comments are more about the younger Bruce vs the present Bruce. He set the bar so high during his incredible performances in earlier decades, that it is impossible for for him to match them at age 74. There is one other thing to mention about his earlier performances vs “today’s” shows. I saw 4 Springsteen shows over 5 days at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland, outside of Washington, DC in the summer of 1984 (Born in The USA Tour). From night to night, Bruce varied the songs from the previous night’s performance. The standards were still there but ten to fifteen songs were different than the previous show. This was incredible that he could add such variety from night to night. Now, he may change a couple of songs but basically his shows are mostly the same night after night. One other thing to add. Bruce was a great storyteller back in the day. During his shows, you could expect him to tell a story leading into a particular song. He could practically mesmerize an audience when he would do this and then break into the song after finishing the story. In the more recent shows that I saw him, he would do very little of this and I don’t know why. This is something he could do at any age along with varying the set list given his incredibly large body of work.

Great that BS who sold his music catalog for half a billion feels the need to travel from city to city and drag the dead carcass of mediocre Pop-rock n roll with him. Great that there are still some fans willing to part with their hard earned $$ to see it. 😆

Oh believe me there's more than just a few who want to witness this, because what they are seeing is a 3hrs non stop emotional rollercoaster by the greatest live band around . The intensity of the shows is unbelievable ( and at nearly 74 remarkable), anybody who is a music fan and has seen it for themselves will tell you, and if you can't see it because of your hatred for one artist ( who's had the audacity to sell his back catalogue that he created) then more fool you.
