This song just builds and builds to magnificence. The greatest piano player in the greatest band to ever set foot on a stage. Bruce and the E.St band can always lift you up from whatever emotions you are experiencing. Been a fan since 1972,seen them numerous times, brilliant beyond description every time. Sympathy on your loss.

Oh Harri, I'm so sorry about your loss of your dear friend. I'm so glad that Uncle Phil happened to pick a song that would mean so much to you and his memory, and that you listened at just the right time. Hang in there, and in time it gets easier to live with such a loss.

My personal favorite from "Born To Run". That's Roy Bittan killing on in the piano. "Born To Run" is one of the landmark recordings of the rock era, without a dud on it, and Springsteen's best album. This album is possibly the greatest performance and achievement on record by an individual artist.

Harri, I am sad for you today. A couple of years ago, I lost my best friend to cancer. Lamont was my great childhood friend and I still have days, where he haunts my thoughts. God Bless you Harri and thanks forgreat reactionsyou provided me the last few years. Take care my friend

I have a similar story. He died Christmas week 1998, and he visits my mind most every day. My Bruce tune for him is Blood Brothers. The two of us saw Boss live and solo @ D.C. Constitution Hall Tom Joad tour before knowing of the songs, and that was right around his Hits release which we didn't know for the new tracks. Sorry to Harri, You and all who have lost a dear matey. To quote Bruce on a different tune, "The scars we carry remain, but the pain slips away, it seems." Sometimes it seems. Best to all!

My condolences, Harri. May your friend rest in peace. I can remember hearing Born to Run for the first time on my older brother’s stereo. It was on the radio and I put my ear against his cheap speakers and became mesmerized. I had never heard anything like it. Backstreets became my favorite song off the album though. I was still in elementary school. But they were all great. Jungleland, Thunder Road, She’s s the One, 10th Avenue all blew me away but Backstreets touched me differently. It became my anthem. I hope in someway it’s help you heal. Sorry again for your loss.

It's interesting you thought to dedicate this to your friend who passed away. On Bruce's current tour the song is about his friend from his first band who died a couple of years ago leaving Bruce the last surviving member of his high school band, The Castiles. His latest original album, Letter to You was about this as well. I think you'd enjoy it. Or download one of his concerts from the current tour on Nugs. They are great and he is now touring again.

So sorry you lost your friend. On Bruce’s 2023 and 2024 concerts, this song follows “Last Man Standing”. Encapsulates loss that we all feel when friends pass, yet gives us the strength to endure. Not necessarily for a review, but I would encourage you to watch those two songs on the current tour. Very powerful!
