Once we were WILD AND INNOCENT, "singing" about an INCIDENT ON 57TH STREET and completely lost for our own ROSALITA... 20 minutes breathless...
But we are GUILTY 'cause we weren't there at that time...

Being a west coast kid in the seventies, I never saw Springsteen and his band at the Jersey clubs to discover the talent and passion of these guys from the start. I met a guy from New York playing basketball at the local YMCA and he gave a couple of albums to listen to because we both had talked about much we hated the music craze at the time, disco. "Greetings from Asbury Park" and "The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle" were those two albums. I always imagined that my reaction to the music on those albums was like when people first heard the Beatles, or Elvis, or Bob Dylan. It changed everything.

My sisters were onto Bruce way early. They played this album until you could see through it. They were at this concert. We grew up in Freehold, NJ, like Bruce. I live by Asbury Park. This album is my favorite. Never gets old.

This song became my favorite on this album over time; not at first though. First there was Rosie. This album is a masterpiece. I can't tell you how many X I listened to this song while going for jogs for about 2 years during the pandemic, while going thru a difficult divorce and later a breakup with my then G-friend who was my best friend. The song sustained me in many ways and the story never grows tired or gets old.

I had heard that this show was going to be broadcast on FM radio stations. I had a friend, Gary Marine, who had a decent cassette recorder and a stereo system. He lived in Cedar Run, south Jersey, right off rte 9! I skipped night Real estate school, and recorded the whole Passaic gig It appeared as a 3 album bootleg the next year! Thanks Bruce, FM radio, and Gary Marine!

If I could ask Bruce one thing, it would be how does it feel to know that you made out of all the incredible music over the decades you've given the world, that nearly 50yrs later you gave us 2 albums back to back (The Wild, The Innocent & Born To Run) that are quite possibly THE MOST perfect ever made. 2 in a row and they've never aged, not one single day virtually 50yrs on. So much so that even now in the 21st century they're still blowing new listeners away, not just fans, but just people who've never heard them before!!! How does that feel Mr Springsteen???? ✊🤘❤️💖

This guy died around the time he put out Born in usa, playing 60,000 seat arenas, & then went to GA seats, (standing squished) charging over $100 for tix & hopped on obamas band wagon. HOW ABOUT RE DISTRIBUTING YOUR WEALT YOU MADE OFF THE REAL FANS & PLAY A WEEK FOR FREE A MSG. You COULD DO IT.WRITE IT OFF & I'll tell you how to pull it off so no scumbag scalpers could make a dime & the real fans, the ones who MADE YOU back at the Bottom Line, could get a chance to see you & maybe you could apologize for letting MONEY rule you rather than fans.

This recording is a wonder. The details that come through along the journey, like the subtle rhythm guitar 2:07-2:20, in this mix just take me back. My favorite moments in Bruce's music are often the quieter ones. I saw this tour, May 24th at the Palace Theater, with my older brother. Bruce closed with Freeze Out, my brothers favorite. I still remember the excitement my brother had when he brought Born to Run home and cued up Freeze Out. He says, "you have got to hear this", and proceeded to crank up the old Marantz 2270 and let her breathe. Moments in time.....still vivid

I saw Bruce at Carter Barron amphitheatre ("75 "76 ?) before he released Born To Run. WHFS in Bethesda MD had a studio release of BTR which included the track Fire which was covered by the Pointer Sisters before Bruce release his version. I enjoyed the early years when he did more playing and singing rather than putting on a display of dancing and jumping around. However, he will give you a three hours of Rock 'n' Roll. You won't see any country bands cover his music.
