A magical touch! A thousand shades of colors from a piano! It can remind the best Horowitz with a pinch of Zimerman and the powerful "jeux de perles" of Argerich... never heard something like that in all the piano history...
@ShanshanZheng2 жыл бұрын
Bruce Liu's Waltz in A flat major is so fresh... I've never heard anyone play it like this. It has a tantalizing dizzi-dreaminess... and yet in other parts full of youthful banter. The dynamism consists in not only the contrast between quiet and loud, but also between excitement and lethargy... His touch is at times a bit too light for me, but on the other hand it is this uniquely light touch that gives his playing a different vibe that is very French (Chopin lived almost his entire life in France!).

Dang...he sounds like birds, bees, wind, fire, bells. The sounds he makes are so evocative. I came for Cateen but dare I say Bruce plays more freely and improvisational. The more I watch the crazier it gets. The shaping and dynamics of LH in the Ballade. The voicing in the waltz. I have never seen that vibrating technique in Andante Spianato and heard such delicate yet rhythmic Grand Polonaise. The touch is crazy?! I think I just heard new sounds in my life.

Solange Clesinger. "Chopin´s playing evoked all the sweet and sorrowful voices of the past.
