Honey Harvest | Using FUME BOARDS to Remove LOTS of HONEY FAST!!!

After talking to some other beekeepers I decided to try using fume boards instead of bee escapes to remove the honey supers for our honey harvest. I bought some fume boards and rounded up a good crew and we went to work. We pulled a record amount of honey for me and we pulled it fast. I could not have done it without their help. It was hard work but we had a lot of fun in the process.

Yes it was a great crew. Two of the boys had never been in bees before so I was concerned but they proved to be pretty tough and did a great job.

That is going to be a lot of honey to peddle Bruce. LOL Good problem. My guess is about 2,700 lbs of honey if you have over 100 boxes. Glad you had a good year.

Yes it is a lot of honey. I am certainly concerned about how to get rid of it but will give it a go. Hope to get the extraction video up in the next few days!

Like the old bee excapes better, did the fume boards push the bees to the out side of the hive?

A little but not bad. We got the supers off pretty quick.

Yes. They were awesome. Worked hard. Full of energy. Lots of fun. They probably carried 90+ percent of the boxes.
