A friend (who shared the ":joys" of ranching with me ) had a Case about that model- the hydraulic side of it was very useful to run a myriad of attachments, but a bit of a maintenance headache. Low fluid, as the reservoir was shared between the external Hyd system and the trans may be your transmission "problem". After two seasons (he bought the tractor used) we had completely switched out the cheap "permanent" hose ends for ones that could be set on new hoses, and found and "cured up" the regulator pressure problem that seemed to be a root cause- it quit blowing hose assys and was a brick- running 12" post hole drills, triple mowers, bucket loader, etc without problem, all day long. And the AC worked like a dream! Good Luck with Beau's machine- if you can get it running and fix the cabin and the AC works it's likely worth some coin! FR

When I was about 40 years younger I worked for Smith Agriculture Services. I was asked to take a break from farming or cowboying on occasion to deliver liquid fertilizer to applicators in the field with a1964 Cabover Freightliner. No power steering, no AC and these things with huge chunks missing that were masquerading as tires. We far exceeded weight limits on backcountry bridges. We would take those bridges as fast as possible so as not to spend much time on them. More time spent = bridge collapse.

Had a Dodge with the 5.9 first gen in it. Might want to check the fuel cone on top of injection pump. There is a pin that rides on cone that meters fuel to engine. Mine got gummed up and had similar problem. Good luck on getting it running. You're gonna love the sound of turbo through that straight pipe lol
@zombieresponder

That fuel lift pump has a priming lever on it. Check the fluids(all of them), then put in some fresh fuel. Loosen the banjo fitting on the top of the fuel filter, then pump that primer until fuel runs out. Tighten the fitting. Then start cracking open injector lines while cranking.

Old engine oil and diesel. Not enough fuel pressure in the injection pump. Not the correct diesel fuel, engine oil and air mixture. Also check the fuel pump ignition wiring, if it is corroded the fuel pump pressure will not work properly. Drain the engine oil and you will see alot of oil goop. Change the oil filter and fuel filter and put some fresh diesel in there and have a nice day!:) If the tractor is not in proper gear or stuck in gear it will not start either. Pull the tractor forward so the driveshaft makes one complete rotation. It is a Cummins so you can bump start it if you have bull horns bars on your pickup or tow rope it. Best of luck! :)
