I had kust turned 13 years old, 6 days before this game. My best friend was from Montreal and I'm from just over the Massachusetts line in NH. He loved his team and i loved mine. Neither one of us had the ability to watch the game at home, because i think back then, TV38 was able to picked up on antenna, but some games were on NESN which was cable and that was a luxury. A local Inn in NH had a bar and yhey let us sit and watch. They even gave us free sodas and chips. I'll never forget this game! WOW, talk about memories! Thanks for sharing.

1988-95 my childhood and a great era of Bruins Hockey. Loved watching Bourque, Neely and company. The crowd exploding and Fred yelling SCORE!!!! What a great era.

What a goal that was by Stephane Richer. He took the shot and Moog made the stop. Then, with one hand on his stick, he flipped over Andy Moog. Two goals & one assist for Richer in this game. The next game he gets hurt and does not return for the remainder of the Montreal Canadiens Playoffs.

The golden era of the Bruins. Man do I miss Fred on the call. I grew up listening to him nearly every other night watching the Bs with my dad. What is so awesome in this game is his call of Neely's goal and pointing out how is perfectly captures Cam's entire career: plowing through opponents and putting the puck in the net. How many Canadiens did Neely thrash in this game? Thanks so much for posting this and the other classic Bruins games.

Anyone else think the Janney pass from behind the net to a defenseman breaking to the net for an OT goal looks familiar?

Any chance for the May 9th 1990 game, against the capitals? Where they complete the sweep?

I was 13 years old when this series was played. Two years earlier was when the Bruins broke the Montreal jinx. As good as that series was, this one was, this series was better. Because (a) I got to stay up and watch its conclusion, (b) the last game was in Boston, and (c) it proved that 1988 was not a fluke.
@LeoWhalen193310 ай бұрын
Definitely not a fluke. Bruins owned Montreal from 1988 to 1994. They lost the 89 series but then won this one and the next three. They didn't get to play them in 1993. I think if they did, Canada's last Stanley Cup would be 1990.
@williamkanejr323310 ай бұрын
@@LeoWhalen1933 I have no doubt about that at all. The Bruins would have DESTROYED Montreal in 1993. They were on a test heading into the playoffs. Montreal skidded in.

Unbelieveable how much the Habs dive and flop to try and get penalties called.
