What a fucking album. Every single song hits, the pacing is nice, the tracklist in general is really varied and well balanced, and the only big complaint that I can give with this album is that I just want more from Silk Sonic. While my favorite song on the album at this point in time is "Smokin Out The Window", the album deep cuts "Put On A Smile" and "Blast Off" are masterpieces too, with the former being so passionate in its emotion I just get swept away in its world and the latter pulling of the space theme better then any song on the latest Coldplay album. 9.5/10 instant classic

There is nothing cheap about this album. It's paying homage, not ripping off the classic sounds of soul. The album is channeling the foundational musical legends of the 70s through two artists in their prime, two artists who owe everything to those legends and who know it and who SHOW it. This album is definitely candy for the ears but it also made me think about how much I owe to the people in my past, to figures in history, in Black history, who live through every aspect of our culture today. I felt like dancing the whole time, I felt like celebrating and I was so grateful for the of legacy soul and R & B that moves me and consistently gets me through the day. This album is a classic.

I am so in love with Silk sonic and Bruno mars. I’m not a huge fan of Bruno per se but these guys together are like audible silk, like chocolate and bubble baths and fur coats, ecstasy for the senses. There are no words. They all fall short, but the way I feel listening to “leave the door open” is like a roller coaster of emotions, and all of them some measure of sensuality.

During After last Night I had the most filthy stank face. Best song in the track IMO. Put on a smile was also something special. What a fucking album

You should start reviewing old soul albums. I think it would be a new Lane for you as far as reviews go. I really enjoyed this review looking forward to listening to it with my wife this weekend

As someone who's been trying to get into 70s and 80s soul/R&B, this album is fire (and two songs too short 😭).

@@TylerG13 I LOVED 2 of those albums (wasn’t that big a fan of King’s Disease to be 100% honest. Wasn’t a bad album, just wasn’t my cup of tea). But Silk Sonic actually managed to craft a perfect album.
