With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
Launch Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
Entry Speed - Speed measured at the pins. (What you'd see on your home center MPH screens)
Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based from the True Breakpoint.
Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.

shot league tonight with the Effect tough pair for me anyway thru 12 in the pocket and left 5 single pins. Finished the night over my average over all so it was a good night. I do really like the Effect. I have never owned a widow but after this video I may be in the market for one. Keep up the great videos.

I really thank you for these two balls this made my decision and it’s the BW mania, the difference for me was the cores are different and BW, showed to me a more responsive off dry or in the oil more so of the effect. Thank you Nick for these comparisons

great comparison video! Question, I recently drilled an older ball of mine to experiment with a Sarge Easter grip like your own but have yet to try it out myself. I’m thinking it may increase rev rate and allow me to hold flatter in my palm which hopefully will help me stay inside of it and stay more cupped. Is that the purpose of that grip? thank you

This video right here shows the true value of the Black Widow line. Fairly significant price difference yet essentially covers the same amount of boards though in a slightly different way. I could see going with both of these but taking the cover on the Effect down to 3000 just to create a little more separation.

Love your videos, really learn a lot. These balls plus Anger on a crown jewel pattern ok with my calculated specs (via your excellent video) 15.75 mph 150 rev. On release….260 rev down lane????

How does the cohesion additive effect ball reaction vs hk22 non additive? I drilled a Mania last week,rolls great.Shot 275 right out of the box.

I had the exact same results after throwing the effect for 3 seasons. The mania looks more controlled and consistent. Also, the Mania looks like Spiderman 2099! ❤

Hey Nick with today's times of bowling centers only oiling lanes for league night, how about a video on some couple day old lane conditions with high traffic? All these balls look good on fresh oil but in the real world it's a different story. Ball recommendations?

The Mania shape looks closer to the vaporize. Clean and smooth. The effect revs up a bit sooner. In my opinion.

This is exactly what a lot of people are also reporting: The Effect is more ball rolling forward/front to back, while the Mania is more ball rolling side to side. All of that is solely on the core. The question: does it cause overlap? At what point would a bowler see having both of these in their bag?

You can also have them at different surfaces and/or drilling layouts to tweak the shape even further.

I will stick with the Effect. I almost sold my Effect. It wasn't doing crap for me. I decided after your abralon pad video to hit with a 1000 pad. Been keeping the 1000 on it for 3 weeks now and haven't shot under 630 with it. So glad I got the confidence to try the pad. Also, two other league mates had the same issue.

I drilled my Mania the exact same as my Effect. I honestly hate the Mania… hate it until the lanes are amost bone dry that is. So like game 3 the Mania can come out and give me some real aggressive snapping off the line and heavy pocket hits.. I’m sure it’s based off of my play style but overall I think the Effect is probably the 2nd best and most versatile ball in any lane conditions I’ve thrown after the 2.0. I could throw my Effect all 3 games of league if I wanted. P.S. I commented this literally right before you said what you said about the balls on fresh and dry lol.
