Another good. This year I started throwing a ned rig in deeper brush piles. 1/5 oz shroom head and a big TRD or hula stick with 20# braid to a 10# fc leader. Seems like a good combo for me. The lakes in Ohio are loaded with dinks and are highly pressured. Sometimes we have to go deep to get a good one.
@BradleyHallmanFishing3 жыл бұрын
How are you rigging to keep it weedless or at least less snags?
@SSS517063 жыл бұрын
@@BradleyHallmanFishing I use the ones with the weed guard but still get hung up at times. When I get bit, it is usually on the fall or the first time I twitch it or hop it. I fish around the edges of the pile. There have been times. Have to straighten the hook or break off but not often. I started messing with Texas rigging it without the weed guard and that’s been working better for snags

I’ve been experimenting the Carolina Rig vs Wobble Head on rocky points off channels and brush piles. So far the wobble is winning on rocks and gravel and the Carolina rig is winning on the brush piles and flooded timber. Fishing 1/2 oz in 8-22 ft of stained water. For both: Creature > Worm > Craw > Swimbait > Stickbait Colors: Junebug has been the biggest bites but less fish, plum has been the best for both size and numbers. A video on pros and cons would be interesting.

Awesome video Bradley! One thing I'd like to share on the drop shotting......I've been using the VMC weedless wacky hook with pretty good results. Seems like you do have to slightly set the hook on a fish to get past the weed guard but it has been a game changer fishing around cover.

Another excellent video. I live on TB and here we have lots and lots of Crappie brush piles and of course we catch lots of Crappies in the summer. Probably on SR too. So, are you fishing for Bass on Crappie piles or is there something that makes a pile a Bass pile versus a Crappie pile? Occasionally I catch small Spots and big Cats while Crappie fishing the piles and very rarely stick a Black that usually gets off of my Crappie gear.
@BradleyHallmanFishing3 жыл бұрын
Always the same piles. Wood is wood man. There’s bass on those crappie piles I guarantee! You may find a depth that the bass prefers more. Crappie like to sit deeper lots of the time and bass shallower piles but they share the same ones as well.

Great video but you didn't mention my fav technique for brushpiles in 6-14 FOW with 4' or less clarity. I use a 3/4oz jig on 20lb flouro. I face into the wind and get 10-20 feet from the pile and flip it in. I never get bit on the initial drop. They always come after yoyo-ing it in the branches. I think it's the same thing as drop shot but I like my odds better with landing them. It works great on largies and spots. Give it a try on Tbird!! It's crazy how hard they THUMP that jig! I found this technique by accident by getting my jig hung up from casting to the pile. When I went to get it, I started yoyo-ing it THUMP... HMMM.. I call it "tea bagging brush piles" lol

Great video I hope you continue it to fall and winter! Couple of questions is that a screaming eagle 3/4 ounce spinnerbait or a full size and are you swimming the wobble head or dragging it? Thanks man!
@matthewhairell14563 жыл бұрын
Slow and steady retrieve the wobble head if on rocks or gravel. The bait action and wobble head will do all the work as it deflects. If fishing on a sandy bottom or in brush piles, you want to reel 3-4 turns and give it a moderate pop with the rod tip 6-9 inches. Think crankbait and not shakeyhead.
@BradleyHallmanFishing3 жыл бұрын
Mathew is spot on the actions of the baits. Those were full size spinnerbaits but you could definitely use a screaming eagle especially in clearer water or places with smaller baitfish. I start with everything bigger and size down as the week progresses usually.
