My Slash motor had the same noise. Discovered the inner armature bushing had worn to an oval shape due to dust that was sucked into the motor. Replaced the motor and installed an Outerwears pre-filter. Also make sure after cleaning the motor you oil the armature bushings. Any light machine oil is OK. I use Singer Sewing Machine oil. 3-IN-ONE or fishing reel oil will work too.

my motor started making that noise after i ran it in some muddy water so it was full of dirt so i tried running water through it to get the dirt out but that didn't work so i ran some alcohol through it and it started working perfectly.

what cleaner did you use?
@Jarrid3137 жыл бұрын
Connor Grow just general electronics cleaner, you can pick it up in the automotive section at walmart , like 3 bucks
@jaketherake87104 жыл бұрын
Connor Grow you can also use wd40 for the shaft part only not in the inside. You do not need to put it inside the motor just the little Bearing that is holding the shaft in place.
@sh1fty42xl42 жыл бұрын
I had this exact problem with my slash 2wd, it ended up being the bearings from the motor, i had to lube them both up and noise went away. no spray alcohol in the motor. the drive shaft that sticks out on the left side of the motor got a little dab and the small main drive gear bearing got a dab. poof fixed😉

a better way is to remove the motor and run it in some water until the motor is clean. But do make sure to dry the motor afterwards by running it
@ddd2286 жыл бұрын
Sure! Just put it in the sink on a 3-4 V. pack. Works great!Dry and lube,after. The motor won't care if it gets dipped into the toilet,either!

Connor Grow pull motor out of truck and remove 4 screws holding end cap on .. removeparts carefully and clean it up in & out . . Check both bearings on the ends and repace if needed . . They sell rebuilt kits for the Velineon motors

This video shows a better more expensive way of doing this, but I have a more inexpensive way of doing it. Note: this is not as good of a method as shown in the video. You need some rubbing alcohol 70% ipa is what I used, pour the alcohol into the cap for the bottle until the lid is about half full, and then pour the alcohol from the cap into the motor, and run it. This should work
