I do have one thing to say, this build is amazing, but if you DO NOT get a custom fire extinguishing setup built into the car, the professional ones that fill everything with foam ect. all it takes is one of those fittings to go slightly wrong, and well, if you want evidence, Mazdas current DPi car catches on fire due to fuel/turbo problems almost every endurance race it takes part in, and its not even a rotary. They are very expensive, and a headache to maintain, but a fire in a bay like that becomes uncontrollable in seconds. Most likely you already have a plan, but just in case you needed someone to yell at you some more, here is my one annoying backseat comment. Live everything you do rob!

@Howdy Justice Billet is just a fancy word for a piece of metal. From what I understand the way metal flows through the molds when casting makes the resulting part weaker than if it was machined to the same spec from a block, at least for complex shapes, which is why you hear about billet blocks so much with very high horsepower cars. For small custom stuff like a lot of these parts getting it machined is cheaper anyway.

Rob, Glad that you like the twin VR fuel cell setup! I'm one of the Fuel System Engineers for Holley and designed the unit you have. As you see on the flow charts the pumps really come alive at higher voltages. Main complaint with the unit are the small filters. They work fine but don't cover much surface area. If this is a concern we have / will soon have a pump adapter that straps onto the pumps and gives you an AN inlet that can be used with a HydraMat like the 16-108. Let me know if you have any questions going forward.

Been playing with brushless motors on automotive fan systems for nearly 20 years. They're 80-90% efficient vs their brushed counterparts at around 50%. They are variable speed and require PWM based control signals which is what that little control box is likely generating in your case. Modern OEM automobiles are using brushless technology all over from fan motors to coolant and fuel pumps. It's really where the industry is shifting so no surprise to see it spilling over to the aftermarket. The build is coming along nicely!

Brushless motors have been proven from RC to thousands upon thousands of variants of cordless tools. It's one of the most reliable and power efficient types of electric motor (AT their size package, they get rubbish once you scale them up). Yo!! Absolutely keep posting daily. Don’t know who would get mad at it. Screw it, I love the daily videos. Don’t know much about crazy builds like this so love this format of videos explaining stuff.

This man inspired me to replace my engine rather than bin the car!! Keep up the vids Rob - love this channel and all the technical stuff rather than the boring end products..
