Dan, I’ll admit I’ve been sceptical of Brushy’s claims. Purchased your book 2 days ago and finished it yesterday. Mesmerising read. I did not know all that. You just could not make it up, and at 90. Impossible. The scars…I mean for people to accuse him of being an imposter: you gotta be absolutely messed up to self-inflict such brutal scars just to steal someone’s identity. Also, Brushy never came to Morrison, it was contrawise and that is what makes him even more credible. There was something still lingering inside of Brushy. Those nostalgic tears. Brushy was Billy the Kid and to think he lived through two World Wars, sat in a second generation car with Morrison and probably knew who John Wayne was. It can go on and on. What a life he lived. It is glaringly obvious Brushy was Billy. Take a look at that photo of Brushy as a teenager and then compare it to Billy’s tintype. It’s a match. A total and utter match no matter what angle you look at it. Why is it that in all those alleged Billy photos it’s always inconclusive? Maybe because the eyebrows aren’t as thick as Billy’s or their nose is more bulbous. There is always something that makes you go “I don’t think it is him”. The only person who looks similar to Billy is Brushy. Yes, the jaw appears to be longer but Billy’s tintype has been played around with over the years and distorted as you said. For me, it’s the eyebrows. In sparsely populated New Mexico, I really doubt you’d meet someone with mismatching but also identical eyebrows and rare eye colour.

I think he was Billy the Kid. I need to do a video going through all the arguments against him and how they are all flawed. On the other side the evidence continues to build. So, I think for a lot of people the mystery has been solved for good or at least to their satisfaction. A single smoking gun would be nice but overwhelming collective evidence perhaps is even stronger and that's where I'm at right now. Thanks for asking!

As a young boy I started reading about Billy and all he had done, granted Young Guns and part 2 played a big influence, but I also read some books about Billy. I also think Brushy was the Kid from what I've learned. Please make the argument video you mentioned soon!

'Documentarians' look 4 Specifics when extending validation to any Claimant; such narrow 'scientific' specificity doesn't allow 4 imperfect human happenstance, which warrants a degree of elasticity when following any individual's personal story. Hence, when the dates & ages don't quite add up, it simply means that one's immediate, loose recollection is rusty rather than phony; that sounds like AND seems 2 be the recollective issue with Brushy's personal story. The Scientific validity of Brushy's Story would be found reliable in his recollections of Sam Jackson and specifics around that 1870 'visit' from Jesse & Frank. How telling it is that Brushy mentioned that his "Father's Mother" (i.e., his 'paternal grandmother') patched 'em up while they were 'horse-tradin.' -Brushy simply was recollecting his own personal memories, as a badge of reflective accomplishment, rather than 'tellin stories.' ...He was 'in the ballpark' with his stories & people & places, even if the exact dates were a bit aged.

Why do think Jesse Evans and Frank Dalton aka Jesse James weren’t part of the affidavits if they were alive and where in direct communication with Morrison?

Good question. Morrison didn't think Dalton was credible but I don't know if it was Dalton himself or the people surrounding him that were using him as a tourist attraction. I imagine he thought Dalton had a hard enough time proving his own identity he didn't want to conflate the two. Regarding Hines, I thought he passed away before Morrison could get an affidavit but I'll need to check that.

I know you have a new Billy the Kid photo taken in Silver City. There is a purported photo of the outlaw in Ray John De Aragon’s possession that was also taken in Silver City. I am guessing the latter’s one is not a match to the one you’re going to release?

Every Billy the kid historian describes him as having many Mexican friends and loving the Mexican culture. But brushy tries to convince us he's Billy the kid by saying my father whipped the Mexicans outta here lol what convinced u he was really Billy? I would like to check it out. Really good point. Billy certainly had a lot of friends in the Mexican community but there are also stories of him killing two of Chisum's Mexican cowhands. Brushy also said he fought alongside Pancho Villa so I think he was more disparaging certain groups of Mexicans, like the Federales and not Mexicans in general but good comment, thanks!

@@chriscossie Once he got serious and trusted Morrison he told him his date of birth was 12/31/59. In this letter he is getting an inquiry from a stranger and didn't want to tell him anything. What it shows is that he was saying he was older than Ollie was supposed to be BEFORE he claimed to be the Kid.
