Michael, I am trying to decipher the "P" versus "F" question for Oliver Roberts' middle initial in the letter. I am inclined to still think she wrote "P." Looks like there is a slight ink gap that can make the P look like an F, but that letter looks (to my eye) exactly like the "P" of Pittman in her signature. On the other hand, the capital "F" in Ferguson looks very different to me. The resolution is not great as it translates the image in the video, so I can't be sure. But I thought I'd pass that particular observation on in case you care to visit that.

Yes you are correct, that is definitely a P. She was referring to the name she just spelled out Oliver P Roberts but she didn't know what the P is for.

Brushy Bill Roberts was not Oliver P. Roberts. He assumed that identity after Oliver was killed. Oliver was his cousin.

I am new to your channel and a new subscriber. I am not a "Billy the Kid" fan as such, more of a history buff in general. I have some questions about "Billy" that I can't seem to reconcile in my brain. I am not questioning anyone's research or integrity on the facts, so if I do, it is not intentional. I am using "Billy" in quotations because he had like 5000 aliases! "Billy" is therefore my choice hence forth. If "Billy" was a ladies man as he was purported to be, then the one-and-only provenance photograph of his, the tin type, makes him look like, well, a dork! I know times have changed, but female nature has not. The ladies always have, and will always want, a good looking bad boy! I dare you to show that tin type photo to a bunch of young women today and ask them if they would have anything to do with person in that photo. Odds are that none of them would let the person in that tin type anywhere near their vagina! I am not saying that the tin type isn't genuine, I just can't square with the way he looks in the tin type versus his reported reputation with the ladies. Pat Garret even stated that "Billy rose from the bushes", having just finished having sex (Paulita?) on the night he was killed. I get it, I look horrible in every photo taken of me, some folks just aren't photogenic. But something just doesn't feel right about the tin type. I have watched quite a few of your videos and they are all running together in my head, my apologies. In one video you showed a picture of 5 ranch hands, and in the upper left corner of the photo you shared, was a "good looking" kid. I am aware that this photo is as yet unproven and that the man in the photo may well not be "Billy". But the way that young man looks lends more credence to that type of man being a ladies man rather than the goofy looking kid in the tin type. The young man in the photo also had a smirk on his face whilst mouthing a cigar, thus lending more credence to "Billy's" mischievous nature. I think I agree that Pat Garret ambushed the "hell" out of "Billy" that night. after all, "Billy" had just recently shot two law men, one a United States Deputy Marshal. No Bueno! Up until that point almost all of "Billy's" actions could be construed as justified. I don't think Pat Garret had a choice that night given "Billy's" longstanding ability to escape. I believe that Pat Garret did change his story of how "Billy" died that night in order to protect the Maxwell's. If "Billy" was that popular and well liked then that would certainly have been a death knell to the Maxwell's. Well, that's enough conjecture for now. Lastly, besides your books, (which are a given), can you recommend any others on "Billy" that are more fact based, or rather reference based and less on opinion? I would like to read the information and then draw my own conclusions. Thank you for what you do in attempting to get down to the facts of this kids story. I think we all feel bad for "Billy" and his upbringing, and I am sure that most of us wish that he had escaped that night and made good on his desire to go straight and live a long life. But then again, I wish I was good looking and rich. Life sucks! I live up here in the Ozarks, not an hour outside of Branson Missouri. If'n you want to come up here and "get your hillbilly on", then come ahead, it would be my pleasure to be your tour guide!

@anthonymontague962 I was a ladies man not based on looks, but for being a gun slinger/outlaw women are like groupies they tend to want to have sex with a celeb. Also for being 9 inches long. Look at Prince he was 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, he dressed like a gay pirate and he was a huge ladies man based on his fame and dick size, but definitely not his looks.
